What Obama's preacher said or didn't say is not going to fix the economy or finish up the job in Iraq

I just hope Obama is not a case of 'Fools Gold'. The country is a few steps away from becoming a 2nd world nation. This is quite a critical time for the nation. Once a nation slips into 2nd world status it is very difficult to bring it back.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

No, but its living standards are falling and fast.

The country is also almost bankrupt while Canada, UK and AUS don't know where to store the surplus cash..

Illegal immigrants have had an undeniable effect on this country. Contributed to excessive supply and not enough demand. I was recently in Melbourne, Aus and could not believe the wealth of people there. The malls are full; And I am talking about huge malls on a Tuesday.

I went to the local mall here the other day and it was shocked to see it so dead. It is one of those things though where you have to go abroad to really see how bad things are getting here..

Must be why so many people were peed off with the UK budget last week. "Rip-off Britain" is a well-established label over there. More expensive to live than anywhere else in Europe - save for Switzerland and Scandinavian countries, which actually have a much higher standard of living.

i dunno man, i work in the auto collision business. each month since 11/07 we've had record months....higher sales each month, this is looking like another....of course...if its broke/wrecked ya gotta fix it.

Yeah that is a great business to be in. I know guys who dropped out of high school, did apprenticeships in the field and now own their own body shops. I know they are doing very very well. All of them are millionaires. Then again you have to be certified to do stuff like that there. So they charge a lot. Plus they don't have to compete with illegal immigrants, so the money is good.

If Barack gets the nomination we can be sure of getting more of this same nonsense. However, let's be clear, this stuff is nonsense. Barack may not be to my taste for my own personal reasons, however I don't believe for one minute that he is a black elitist.

Well the English tax system is quite high. How else do you pay for all of those services? Probably why every second person I met in Melbourne now is from the UK.

Well yes but one should look at the people a person associates with in order to better understand them. If Senator Obama disagreed with Wrights's racist and controversial views he would have nothing to do with him and certainly would have chosen another church to go to.

GWB is a good example of looking at ones friends. I think he is a good person but look at the clowns he rolls with and the influence they have had on his decisions.

Obama seems to have quite a few 'questionable friends' that his fan club is brushing aside as a 'smear campaign'. Some people need to stop treating politics like supporting a sporting team or their favorite American idol contestant. Where they blindly follow a candidate and refuse to listen to or accept any negative feedback about this person. It's not a game. Everyone's future, living standards, security, prosperity is at stake here. So yeah I am going to be the black sheep and dig into and question every candidate.
