Might sound totally wacky to some of you...but that's the beauty of this thread... :)

Joel and I are leaning towards Native American Spirituality...I come from a Cherokee and Seminole background and I've felt a bend in this direction for a while now... :)

It'll be interesting how long this thread can be simply about expressing one's personal beliefs, won't it :D What a good psychological experiment *grinz*

As for the Church, no, I haven't been, though that certainly sounds nice enough. I am not really looking for a place to go though, as it were. It's been nice recently to find people to hang out with generally, though. Certainly that would be an excellent place to introduce children to - it's hard being a kid, and if they are placed in a nurturing, open minded environment like that, it could hopefully only help them. The other alternative I can think of, certainly in the UK, are Quakers :)

Even a rare steak is dead meat. Or so I've been told.

*wonders if he really wants to inquire on that not yet dead seafood*

That could very well be, and I'd love to use that as the 'excuse'. However, in reality I'm horrid for noticing details and don't really pay attention to where people/their SO are from (unless it's Canada). I just thought by the tenor of your posts that you were male.

Ah well, it's my goal in life to learn something new every day. There's todays! hehe

I have read a lot about different religions. What I actually believe in tends to be a little bit of many different religions, though I lean more towards celtic and celestial paths. I believe in karma. I do not believe in trying to sway another persons religious beliefs. Faith is personal and I do not feel anyone has the right to belittle another persons religious beliefs.

I had a massive car accident 8 years ago & was told by doctors that there was 'no scientific explanation as to why I was alive' :o I went through a 9+ hour brain/spinal surgery where my chances of suviving the surgery were '50/50 at best' and if I did happen to survive, there was like a 75-80% chance (or something like that) that I'd be paralyzed from the neck down.

I tell ya, the feeling of waking up after that, seeing all my family, mostly my mother's tear stained face as she smiled through severe emotional exhaustion, while the doctor ran some spikey thing on the bottom of my feet (and me feeling it!!) was the absolute best feeling on the planet.

Aside from a massive scar running from the top of my head to the top of my back (which is hidden by hair anyways), there's not one residual problem with me (eh, cept when it rains :P)

I have story after story of what I see as God working daily in my life, but this is one of the more stand-out ones.

As I said before, by definition I am Catholic, but I feel my spirituality & my close relationship with God transcends definition & is only governed basically by the two of us.

As Karen mentioned, I tend to lean towards native american spirituality. I have studied many other religions and once considered myself wiccan, and with the pagan beliefs. However I have since left that because there are too many damn kids who think it's cool to be wiccan/pagan now and soooooooo many people (adults included) with their heads in the clouds and it just turned me off big time. Some people just don't know what it's all about. It's a religion, not some mystic power. Besides, many of those I met were just christian bashers and that makes me sad.

Yer all going to hell.

The Muslims on here are going to Jewish Hell, the Jews are going to Muslim Hell, the Christians are going to Hindu Hell and the Hindus are gonna get reincarnated as Muslims who end up going to Jewish Hell. Either way, we all end up in Hell. As for the Buddhists, they already think the Earth is Hell so there's no new Hell for them. They just decompose and fertilize the earth.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
