I have two question:

1. We sent the I-129F on 01-17-08 and get the NOA1 on 01-22-08. But we didn't send the I-134, What can We do? When I'm going to need the I-134?

2. I still can understand how to know if my case was touched. Can somebody explain how to know? maybe this was a stupid question.

THANKS

The I-134 is required at the Embassy interview stage. Some Embassies require the forms in advance, others require it at the interview. Follow the guidance provided from the Embassy after NVC processing.

Touches on your file don't mean a thing. Our file was touched many times, yet approval progress was slow.

Don't waste your time or pin hope on touches.

All the best going forward.

Hello there new January filer!! The other poster was correct, the I-134 is to be provided to the embassy much farther down the road than you currently are (if your a CSC filer - if VSC then you might want to consider pulling all the information together soon).

Although too much emphasis is placed on "touches" one thing is certain, the VSC filers in January began reporting a lot of touches after only a few weeks of filing, and as of today about half of them have been approved. A touch is created when the USCIS handles your file - there is a barcode on the front of your file and each time it is moved, handled, or otherwise handled the USCIS reads the barcode into their system. This is done so that they can track activity on the file and locate it if there is a question about it. Touches can also be generated (it seems) if you call on a "late" approval file - a file that is outside the processing timeline, or if you have other filers in your time frame getting approvals. There is no real evidence that these call generated touches speed up your approval but some will disagree.

Here's what you need to do to find out if you have been touched:

Get the case number from your NOA1, its a long list of numbers preceeded by a three letter code (e.g. WAC, or EAC)

Go to the USCIS website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/termscondi...ntextType=CU_EN

and register using your application number. You'll set up a password and user name so only you can see this info (this the Case Status Service - online if the link isn't working right)

Now when you go back into the USCIS system and login you can look at the listing of open cases (you should have only one - your I-129f) and the a "Last Updated" date in your portfolio.

If your date has changed.......then you've been "touched"

Being touched is really just a point of data. Some people get approved without seeing any touches, some people get touched a lot and don't receive any approval right away. Some people actually receive their NOA2 without the system showing an update in their stats. The way it's supposed to work is when you are approved, you can find that out from looking at your change in status on this site, before you get the NOA2 in the mail.

I hope this helped.

And So It Begins......
