Experience at Trinidad embassy

Greetings all.

K-1 has been approved!! Our excitement is immeasurable!!

First off, a big THANKS to everyone who helped us get this far!!

For those who are dealing with the T&T embassy, here's a quick rundown of the experience:

Interview time was at 7:30. My fiancee arrived about an hour early and waited. The receptionist gave her a manila folder with a checklist of documents to be submitted in the folder. These documents included her passport, medical exam, police certificate, I-134, DS-156, and DS-156k.

After turning in the paperwork in the manila envelope, she had to wait about a half hour for them to go over the documents provided.

The interview was very casual and easy. The checklist included with Packet 4 included an unsigned statement of intent. At the interview, she had to swear that all documents submitted were honest and accurate, and that her intentions were to marry within 90 days of entry, and then sign the statement of intent in the presence of the consular officer. After that, there was a handful of easy questions. Questions included things like how we met, and what plans we have for a wedding.

That was it. She was approved. She'll be picking up her visa on Friday, and will be here next week

I turned everything in to our attorney today so all they have to do is send. How long did it take for the Trindad Consulate to get your interview and etc... We are so anxious and it would be great to hear from fellow Trinidadians!!!! :star:
