Not really. If you applied for an EAD now it would have to be based on your current immigration status which is only valid for 90 days - until your I-94 expires. It takes about 90 days to process an EAD application so you would pay all that money and have an EAD that was either already expired or would expire within a few days after you get it. Your EAD based on your current status cannot be extended.

The fastest way to get back to work is to get married as soon as you can and apply immediately for AOS and EAD. That EAD is based upon your status as an AOS applicant and you will be eligible for an EAD as long as you are an AOS applicant. Once you receive your AOS you don't need an EAD, and if your AOS takes more than a year to process you are eligible to apply to renew your EAD 3 to 4 months before the current one expires.

Unless you are very lucky you should be prepared to deal with a few weeks or months not being able to work. Explain the situation to your employer and he may be willing to give you a leave of absence until you get your AOS based EAD.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
