The NOA2 finally arrived yesterday, the interview is for 6/28/06 (2 months notice, very nice). Without hestitation, I passed the good news to my wife, who went back to China to prepare for our wedding reception there in 6/10 (this is after our official marriage in the US of course), she can't be any happier as you can imagine. The interview date is especially good since we will be returning to the US 10 days before it. Back when we planned the trip, we often wondered what if the NOA2 and the interview date was during the week we are staging the reception in China? Glad we don't have to face that dilemma, whew!

The NOA2 came with a bit of surprise because the USCIS online status check hasn't been updated since 2/27/06, even after I received the actual NOA2 in the mail. Oh well, who cares, as long as we got the appointment date.

Having read recent posts about other Chicago AOS interview experience on this forum, we are not too stressed about going into it. There's no stopping us now!

9/7/04: Engaged

10/25/04: Sent I-129F original submission (Nebraska SC)

8/1/05: K-1 visa approved!

12/3/05: My honey and I entered through Chicago O'Hare together. She is finally home with me!

I-485 AOS

12/21/05: Got married

12/22/05: Applied for SSN, had to do manual verification, 6-8 wks:(; completed I-693 vaccination supplement w/ local civial surgeon

1/09/06: Got SSN card in mail, this is fast!

1/20/06: Sent AOS, EAD and AP package to Chicago Lockbox

1/31/06: Received NOA1's for AOS, EAD & AP

2/3/06: Biometric appt letter arrived today (wow! that's fast!), scheduled for Wed. 2/22/06

2/22/06: Biometric done, but found out we had the wrong DOB filled out on her I-485, cannot be corrected at the time because her case isn't in the "system" yet. This is stressful.

2/25/06: I-485 touched

3/6/06: Infopass Appt in downtown Chicago to resolve the DOB issue. Had to send a letter to the processing center.

3/24/06: AP approved and sent in mail!

3/27/06: EAD touched.

3/28/06: EAD approved online

3/29/06: AP received in mail

4/29/06: AOS NOA2 received -- interview date June 28 2006. Online status shows still in process.

6/28/06: AOS INTERVIEW in downtown Chicago Sucess! Passport got stamped and Green Card is on its way!

7/8/06: Green Card arrived

I-751 Remove Condition

4/28/08: Sent I-751 package to NSC

4/30/08: NOA1 date

5/12/08: 1st NOA for biometric appt on 5/28/08

5/16/08: Another NOA for biometric appt on 6/5/08, we are confused

August 14, 2006 - Welcome to the US letter and I-130 approval received in the mail

August 15, 2006 - Permanent Resident Card received in the mail

Congrats!

And just out of curiosity: You said the online status hadn't changed, that seems to be the case a lot, but did you get any kind of email notification and are you signed up for them? Just wondering how it works for others to have an idea of what to expect.

Timeline:

11-15-2005: Sent in I-129F to VSC

11-21-2005: NOA1

11-29-2005: NOA2

12-05-2005: NVC recieved

12-17-2005: Packet 3 received from Dublin

1-11-2006: Sent packet 3 forms, etc. to Dublin

2-03-2006: Interview Date :)APPROVED!!!

2-05-2006: Flying to Logan Airport

2-11-2006: Wedding Date

3-14-2006: Filed AOS and EAD

3-22-2006: NOA1 (AOS and EAD)

4-07-2006: Biometrics

6-07-2006: EAD approved!!

7-24-2006: AOS Interview APPROVED!!!

7-27-2006: Received Welcome to America letter

8-03-2006: Green Card Received :)

Yes, I signed up for the email notification and did not get anything. Back a month ago, I got email notification for EAD approval, but not AP approval, even though both were approved within days of each other. In my view, it's more important to get the actual NOA in hand than worrying about whether I get an email notification.

March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.
