Ok - received the notification from our bank that the check was cashed today! Yay! My husband will be printing off a copy of both sides of the check and bringing it home from work so we can figure out where our application has ended up.

I searched the forum and found it - Your package was picked up by USCIS on March 3rd..... Mine was picked up on March 5th... so its not too bad! phew I know that its still soon.... but you know what it's like waiting for news!

Just wait for the sound of me cursing when mine gets transferred when yours didnt lol

Can you tell me on the back of your check where it shows the SRC prefix if it has anything else written above it? We also sent ours to Texas and my check got cashed yesterday with the TSC bank, but there it also says "VLC _ _" (two digits) above where it has our SRC # and I didn't know what the VLC meant. Thanks! :goofy:

I've been doing some googling on this issue of the receipt number from the back of the check not being valid... and apparently this issue has happened before at the TSC....

Look very carefully at the letters that they send you regarding this case... if our cases follow the pattern of previous cases with this issue, some will have the number from the check on them... but you'll get at lease one with a different receipt number on - and THAT receipt number will work and allow you to track the case... keep a note of both numbers, but only one of them will be valid to check your case status.

I have no idea WHY this problem occurs, my research didnt tell me that, just that this happens sometimes... perhaps that's what the VLC means lol "Very Likely Confused" lol
