My fiancee will be visiting from Thailand next month on a tourist visa. We have previously met in Thailand last year and I am using that trip for the qualification of having met in person one time. In order to get this tourist visa I had her put on the visa application that she will be visiting a Thai friend of hers that moved to the USA a few years back. At the end of this visit, if all goes well, we will file the I-129F form. My question is this: Since she indicated this trip was to visit her friend and not me should I use it as proof of an ongoing relationship or would it cause complications?

first congrats on getting the coveted b1/2 from thailand! while you should always be honest when dealing with the government you can use this visit to substantiate your relationship. be sure to take plenty of photos of yourselves in landmark places etc. with your friends here and anywhere that might indicate the time that she is here (some event like a festival or something). be sure to save receipts and boarding passes etc.

Get copies of entry/exit stamps from passport also, those show the visa was in fact used to enter and exit the country.

I have several tourist visas in my passport for China, but the visas only say when they were valid, they do not say if they were used or not, the entry/exit stamps tell that.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
