Has anyone else experienced this? We received the biometrics notice first, which is dated the same date (2.29.08) as the transfer of our file to VSC, per the case status online (see below). I was actually looking forward to either the transfer notice or the notice of receipt because as I understand it, it would've included the proof of extension for another year, such as what many members here are getting.

Should I be concerned about not getting these notices in any particular order? I already see that some of us wait longer than others, but now I think that some USCIS notices are not sent in order, or worse, never actually arrive. I am glad that this did not happen with our Biometrics notice, because that would possibly pose a bigger issue if it was indeed lost. As a side note, I actually know someone else that received their intial notice, then two weeks later, received the BIO notice, where as, everything seem to have happened on the same day for us. I am especially getting concerned about the possiblity of it being lost because it does indicate below that I was sent 'a notice of transfer'

Oh yeah, and must I add, that I also do not like the fact that we recieved the BIO notice very close to the actual appointment date for it, which is next week (3.19.2008)!!

I'm also in the same boat as you. My wife received her Biometrics appt. letter for her appt. scheduled for the 18th. We're still waiting on the extension letter. My wifes GC is now out of status, and we need to go to her biometrics appt. with that expired GC and no letter of extension.

I don't know if this is solely a VSC issue or now, but we seem to be the ones this happens to more often that other places.

*keeps fingers crossed and hopes for the extension letter.

To know me, you have to read "Our Story" which started in Monterrey Mexico 5 years ago...

Hey Xsoldier2000, thanks for sharing your experience as well. Our biometrics appointment is exactly a week away. I was thinking to ask them about this when we go to the ASC for it, or alternatively, make an InfoPass appointment at the field office. Since the time frame is unknown at this point, I will much rather be prepared, in case we have to travel outside of the US.

I shall keep everyone posted through this thread.

Apparently, there are several threads of the same nature in this forum right now, and it seems to be happening more often than not. However, since I started this thread, I thought I let everyone know about where we stand.

Someone recommended to take the passport to the ASC during the biometrics appt. to see if they can stamp it with I-551 for extension. As it turns out, these people had no clue about I-551 (wifey says they suggested that they are just contractors), so InfoPass appointment at the filed office is inevitable, if we do not see the NOA for extention letter in mail soon.

Same here! I got my biometrics on Saturday which I wasn't expecting. I was expecting for NOA1 with the extension letter but biometric appointment came up first. I checked the status of my case and it said that my case was then transferred to Vermont.

Well, there's nothing we can do for now but to wait.
