Hi everyone On VJ. I am new to this forum. I got married on October 23rd 2007. I got married in India. I came back to US, and filed I-130 for my wife who lives in India. I am a US Citizen. I sent my I-130 in November 2007. They received it on November 16th. Notice of Action was sent to me on January 24th 2008. Now I want to know what is the next step? What forms do I need to send? When will I hear from them that they touched my file? My file was sent to Vermont Service Center.

someone please help me...... i am so stressed out, and i am so tensed.

thanks

you can have your wife start to gather all the documents, that can take a bit of time in India and as far as I am concerned you cant start too early for some of the things.

If you dont mind me asking, was this a civil ceramony or hindu and if hindu marriage are you hindu from birth? if not did you get conversion certificate as that will be required to even get approval of I-130.

The next step depends on whether you want to proceed with K-3 visa or the regular CR/IR-1 visa. If you want to proceed with K-3 visa, you need to prepare and send I-129 package. VJ has a checklist to help you while you assemble the materials. If you want to continue with IR-1 visa (which takes a bit longer for your spouse to get here than K-3), you do not need to do anything, I believe, but continue to track the progress.

Others may add or correct this.

csc is currently processing august filers

read this forum daily, and try to find other users who filed in times similar to yours, so you know when november people start getting approvals and whatnot

this is a great source of information, and i'll dare to say that it is more reliable than the uscis 0800 line
