Sick baby? It may be your formula

People keep going on about those who can't breast feed. Who are these mystery people? Why can't they? What are the REAL medical conditions that stop them from doing so? There can't be too many or man would have died out some time ago.

Apart from that, no, it wasn't a judgement but it's still true, you can't go wrong with breast milk, correct temperature, correct consistancy, correct nutrients every time.

I had HUGE problems with getting both my sons to latch on, I expressed milk for 6 weeks with my first and for a month with my second before they took mil direct from my breast...Most mothers I talked to were of the opinion I should just feed them formula because it was easier!

But I could never forgive myself for taking the easier option rather than what is BEST for my child.....

 I knew there could be difficulties with some getting the hang of it, but I had no clue it could potentially take so long to get things working...I didn't experience any problems or discomfort and couldn't really understand how it could prove that hard. I admire your perseverence though.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

oh my goodness, i tried and tried but i could not produce enough no matter what i did, my son was a preemie, does this make me less of a mother because i didnt produce enough??! As long as my son is healthy i couldent give two craps if i did or did not breastfeed. Its not just about latching issues, if you are told by your doctor after weeks of trying you dont produce enough milk, end of story.

Oh yes!!

My second is six months now, I can still only feed him lying down....I do express milk for him and hope to continue feeding him until he's a year old...Breastfed my oldest until he was 18 months....

I think you're taking things far too personally

as for your doctor, I blame THEM, what should have happened is that you saw a lactation consultant...not blaming you at all, you just didn't have the support you needed....

Well, if you have no milk you have no milk, you can't do anything!

And NO it by NO means makes you less of a mother......No-one has the right to put you down for what YOU believe is BEST

30 hours! :o Oh my.

Wasn't fun but he's a lot of fun now. My friends baby was born within 30 Minutes. They made it to the hospital just in time. Maybe you'll have one of those.
