Get tested or re-vaccinated later in the USA. Vaccinations are needed for AOS, not for K-Visa.

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

Not so...packet 4 from the embassy in bogota requires all non immigrant visas to have updated shots. Not to mention that the Colombian doctors are such sticklers that they require all immunizations be done with them or no more than 8 days before the medical exam.

Even if you probably find the records they would be too old for the date of the medical exam. Reason I know this is because my fiance had a long heated discussion with Dr. Roa in Bogota about the possibility of having shots a few months old. She said that they would not approve the medical exam without recent shots! (us colombianos think its a ploy to get more money out of us...)

Read into the Colombia Club thread...this topic has been touched several times now.

Nope nope nope. I did not have my Mexican vaccination records, and I just did the following:

1. Went to get a tetanus shot.

2. Told the doctor who did my exam in Canada that I had all my vacc's done when I was a child

3. He ordered a titration test

4. No problem.

Some vaccines are dangerous if applied after certain age. As a matter of fact, my visa had a notation indicating something to that effect. Luego entonces, no se preocupe demasiado ;)

Well Len you are 100% correct, EXCEPT the doctors in Colombia that were appointed by the embassy will not accept any vaccinations that were give more than 2-4 weeks before the medical. This of course depends on what day you call because they'll say they can't be older than a week one day, and then two days later you call again and say they can't be older than a month. It's definitely a way for them to get more money. My husband also had an argument with Dr. Roa and his staff regarding this issue and he ended up getting 3 shots the day of the medical even though he had gotten them 3 months earlier.
