Hi all,

2 questions...

1) My fiance can't find his vaccination papers... He's from Peru and it's doubtful that they'll be any records on the immunizations at his old doctor's office. Would they keep any record of this at the hospital? Should I tell him to go there for help? Any suggestions? It seems crazy that he would have to redo all of them? Help!

If he does have to have them redone, is he going to have to have them redone by the docs in Lima? With the approved docs or can he get them redone where he lives now?

2) What's the name of the certificate that we have to get from the polic in Peru? Where do I find this info? Is it now in the Department of State's website?

Omg, this seems like it's going to happen so fast, how are we going to get all this done??

Any help would be appreciated.

If you cannot demonstrate a record of vaccination there is only so much that can be done to avoid getting them redone... Vaccinations are required for AOS but may simply be cheaper to get all done before coming to the USA....

Police Records

Police records (Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales) are available to applicants over the age of 16, and are issued on green paper with the heading “Policia Nacional del Peru, Division de Identificacion, Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales”. The applicant's photo is attached to the certificate. Applicants without criminal records will have "No Registra Antecedentes" printed on the form. A negative certificate does not necessarily mean the subject has no police record, since police records may be deleted upon completion of sentence. A police record may be issued to residents or non-residents upon application to Policia de Investigaciones del Peru. Division de Identificacion, Av. Aramburu No. 550, Lima 34, Lima. The applicant must first request a fingerprint chart (ficha de canje internacional) and provide one photo. Processing time is normally three days. There is a small fee.

1)

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

I would get any records and bring them to the USA, or investigate costs to get them done in foreign country, or locally in the USA.

Thanks to you both! Got the info for the police records all straightened out.

So, when I read the info on taking the medical exam again, I'm getting the distinct impression that if he can't find his records that they'll need to give the vaccinations to him there and that he CAN'T get them redone in Chimbote, where he lives now. That these new shots somehow wouldn't count. Am I reading that correctly?

Thanks!

Medical exam has to do with things like testing for tuberculosis and other things that make a person medically inadmissible. K-Visas do not need vaccinations for the visa, it is later needed for the green-card.

Would they keep any record of this at the hospital? Should I tell him to go there for help? Any suggestions? It seems crazy that he would have to redo all of them? Help!

In theory a Dr. would drawn blood and run a titer to see what immunities he has....in reality he will probably need to be re-vaccinated (not likely for everything though, only the things the Dr. sees as necessary.)

If he does have to have them redone, is he going to have to have them redone by the docs in Lima? With the approved docs or can he get them redone where he lives now?

I would say if he can get them done there (with the docs in lima) better. It will cost a whole lot less than the US and although he supposedly does not "need them" to enter as you will see this appears to be required in Lima. None the less, he will need a record for AOS. It will need to be a record (form specific) by a civil surgeon. And you guys can pay to have just your record transfered onto the correct form instead of paying for a new medical in the US.

2) What's the name of the certificate that we have to get from the polic in Peru? Where do I find this info? Is it now in the Department of State's website?

This link sums up that info better than anyting I have seen.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108296

Omg, this seems like it's going to happen so fast, how are we going to get all this done??

It is very fast from here on. It's crazy. After a couple of these panic feeling days it will calm down, don't stess. (easier said than....)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys,

No worries about the vaccination records. Mayo couldn't find his and just redid all of them. He had 3 shots and blood and x-rays taken. He said it wasn't too bad, just hurt for about 2 days. We had the interview yesterday. It only took about 3 hours. Mayo said it was really easy, so no worries. Grrr, I can't figure out how to make a general post. I only know how to reply right now. LOL. Good Luck guys. Oh, get your medical done about 2 or more days before your interview. Mayo will pick up his Visa tomorrow (2 days after the interview), and he will be here next week!!! :luv:

We are extremely happy! ^^ :D

Thanks for all the support, and good luck.

Finally after 4 years apart, we can be together. ^^

Congrats! Yay!!!!

Wow, I'm so glad to hear that it's going to go so easily with the medical. I've already told him that he needs to head to Lima for the medical.

Do we have to wait for Packet 3 to arrive before he gets the exam? Or can we do it before?

OMG! David went to the doctor today and the doctor said that he needed 8 vaccinations!!!!! WHat?????

I'm so pissed. Looks like everyone else seemed to only have to have 3 or 4.

Furious..........................!!!

We're talking via IM tonight so he can re-explain. The line wasn't very good. I'm hoping that somehow I misunderstood what he said.
