Will Hillary releasing her tax returns:

lower high gas prices for all American?

end the Iraq war? (since Sam Powers said his current plan was a "best case scenario")

fix the economy?

provide healthcare for all Americans?

Personally I would rather Obama started asking why George W doesn't release papers related to his and his daddy's presidency.

Steven, it's fine that you like the guy, but honestly, you don't see the reverse psycology angle that he's playing here? Has there ever been anything funny about the Clinton's tax returns in the past? Is there anything that could lead one to the conclusion that they have been playing fast and loose with their supposed income? Have they ever been late with their returns before? His language totally plays on the emotions that we should be suspicious because he says so and not because there is any evidence that there is anything wrong?

I take in different context than perhaps you do. I have lived through two, two term presidencies, both with their share of controversial secrecies, and like many Americans I'm tired of it. So basically when Hillary says she wants to take this country in a different direction, she doesn't mean the political aspect of it. Same 'ol, same 'ol.

and that has what to do with her tax returns?

Any reluctance of disclosure will be perceived that way, whether you believe it's justified or not. I'm surprised Hillary's advisers aren't telling her to just go ahead and release them rather than arouse people's suspicion of being secretive.

Yet again, I have to ask, what is this 'new political direction' Barack is going to take us on? I don't see it, what I see is an intelligent, astute career politician using the ideological platform to further his career. I don't believe he has put forward any policies that will change the direction of politics beyond what he personally will bring to it. That's not ideological change. quite frankly, it makes me very uncomfortable which is what I have identified as being the problem I have with him.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Well done Barack, he's managed to creat a climate of suspicion where none existed, without a hint of substantiated proof, or a whiff of scandal he's managed to create the impression that Hilary has something to hide. Bravo!

He's promising to have a more transparent administration. That's a pretty good start.

In terms of donations, Obama has taken almost no PAC money, while Hillary has received over a million in PAC money, and over 11 million from other sources

from the second link posted.

UPDATE: Terry McAuliffe, Clinton's campaign chairman, just said on MSNBC that she will release the return around the time of the tax filing deadline on April 15 and before the pivotal primary in Pennsylvania on April 22.

Storms and teacups and Barack is doing a fine, fine job.

Wether or not she did anything wrong. Because she she made a $5 million dollar "loan" (which may never be repaid) to her campaign, she should disclose where the money comes from.

Not doing so could be a loophole through which a contributor pays the candidate personally, and then that money is "loaned" to the campaign.

Clinton has released tax returns before

Fear mongering here, take note!

Barack Obama’s campaign took fresh aim at Hillary Clinton Wednesday for refusing to release her tax returns, asking in a memo circulated to reporters, “What does Clinton have to hide?”

“In the face of her unwillingness to release her tax returns, Hillary Clinton has made the false case in this campaign that she is more electable because she has been fully vetted,” the memo stated. “When it comes to her personal finances, Senator Clinton’s refusal to release her taxes returns denies the media and the American people the opportunity to even begin that process.”

Steven, it doesn't wash with me, promissing 'transparency' translates to a bunch of poo when he displays such skill in creating smoke screens. If I am to believe something, I want evidence and evidence is sadly lacking.

You'll have to explain PAC money and why it's so dangerous.
