Hi Everyone,

I received my NAO1 on 12/12/07. I will be going to Ukraine to wait for the NAO2 with my fiancé. I know that there is always a possibility that we will receive a RFE. I will have my lawyer receive my visa related mail and I have asked him to scan and email me any RFE's that I might receive. My question is, can I use the scanned copy of the RFE to respond to it or do I need the ordinal copy to send with my response? Thanks

The RFE I received said - "Place this letter on top of your response. Submission of evidence without this letter will delay processing of your case and may result in a denial. Please use the enclosed envelope ... ... "

The RFE also has a barcode on the top - so a scanned copy may not work but I am not sure if any one sent in a scanned copy and were okay. I sent the original copy with my response.

SO, you can go ahead and hope you don't get an RFE and if you do then you have a choice to use the scanned copy or not. If your lawyer is going to receive this - isn't he going to respond to this also? In that case he should be sending the original back with the response - isn't that his job?

I think in either case you will be okay. Since you have already decided to pay someone to do this, what's paying a little bit more, if you have an RFE. I hope you don't because the reason you hired a lawyer would have been to avoid a mistake that is sometimes made by others - correct?

Good Luck in any case.

motu you are so right about the lawyer. I wish people wouldent line lawers pockets with their money.. You end up doing all of the work anyways. All they do is lick the stamp !

Thanks for your response. Just to clarify. I am not using this lawyer to handle the visa application, I am doing that myself. I am just using him to receive my mail while I am out of the country.
