Is anyone else having a good time watching the democratic party implode? I know I am. I wonder if they now regret the idea of superdelegates?

I heard an observation today. If the dems can't run a primary any better than this what makes them think they can run the country any better?

Is the electoral collage style better? Thats basically what the Republican party uses.

McCain won the early races without a majority of the party support. Is that better?

DNC Superdelegates = Unpleadged RNC delegates. If the Republican race was closer, you can bet they would come into play.

This seems to be a theme with the dems. I remember the 68 race. What a mess that was. I don't recall a rep race turning into a clusterfukc like this. What is really ironic is the digs that were pointed at the reps early on about how they didn't have a "clear leader" and how it showed how fractured the reps were. That sure came back and bit them in the butt.

If the Republicans had a candidate that the whole party could rally around. Last I heard McCain wasn't it - and in fact he was pretty far down the list, below Romney (who's mormonism alienated the bible belt) or Mike Huckabee (a Southern Baptist) who alienated everyone else, and became a bit of a joke - with his silly celebrity endorsements. Chuck Norris was the only thing keeping his campaign alive for a while, but only in a treading water sense.

Lets just see which party rallies around the final candidate later this year. The dems are shooting themselves in the foot with a machine gun right now.

McCain can't get media coverage right now, even if he paid for it.

True - but I wonder how serious people when they say "if its Hillary, I'm voting for McCain". Last week - McCain was asking George W Bush to campaign for him in general election. I can't imagine an active endorsement from George W Bush is going to do a lot to woo swing voters to McCain's side.

As I say, I think the race is very open. It will of course depend on what the candidates decide to run on - Iraq I think would be a mistake, at least for the Democrats, because I don't think anyone really believes there's a quick solution there.

That is true. Best he can do right now is focus on raising money for the election. He's not going to get any airtime until the Democratic candidate is finalised.

Ron Paul doesn't really represent the Republican party as it has become. There is much more emphisis on National Security and Defence spending than there is focus on fiscal responsiblity.

Go check out the tactics of the Republican party in Louisiana before you start touting the republicans ability to run an election. They are just much better at making sure their guy wins.

...gotta love progressive conservatism! lol ...talk about doublethink :no:

...not a dig at you, Dan + Gemvita, I just find politics so incredibly silly sometimes. They lie, we believe just enough of it for it to work....yah, I'm an independent voter
