If the Speaker of the House is the same in the US as in the UK, then yes, she should maintain inscrutible neutrality but I don't know if it works the same over here.

As for the Barack being vice president thing, to suggest that because Hilary thinks he lacks experience (and at 45 he is a little short on 'life experience' at the very least) how could she possibly think he should be considered as VP material is yet more Barack spin.

Being the VP for the most part is a far less demanding role than that of President, less demanding and less glamerous (which could be the real reason he would be reluctant to take it should that be put forward.) The only occasion this lack of experience would have any impact is if he were to have to assume the role of president because something happened to the president. How likely is this to happen, really? It has happened, but it is very, very, very UNLIKELY to happen. Still, maybe I have missed something here and the rold of VP has suddently spiralled in importance? Regardless, the idea of having both the front runners on the same ticket has to be a reasonably good idea if you want to win the presidential election, no? Or again, what is this obvious point I must be missing???

Barack is a very astute politician, he can spin with the best of them. Is this a bad thing? No, not really but and this is my personal objection to him, he's a career politician of great intellect who is passing himself off as an ideological politician. That's what niggles at me every time he makes one of those, "it's not for me, it's for the American people speaches." This is just my opinion, the one I have formed over the past few days from reading and researching and not some second hand opinion from a blog or a newspaper.

Hilary has her faults, and we know all about them, but for me she is the more honest about who she is as a person. I know people don't like her and that's fine they don't have to like her, and I don't have to believe in Barack.

My prediction for Devilette: if Obama wins the nom, she votes McCain and through doing so is finally liberated enough to realize she's been a Republican all along.

Look, as I said before, I'm looking forward to my 30s as I assume a lot of things will be better. That's my perspective, but it doesn't seem to be yours. If it is, that's fine. I guess I don't really care. But if you don't want me to point that out, then don't bring up how young I am as though it means anything. But I haven't seen tactics like yours since the schoolyard. Other party elders are trying to figure out how to avoid a knock down drag out fight that will jeopardize the Dems' chances at the general election. The best scenario is for the party elders to intervene and push for Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton team.

I had watched the Wizard of Oz as a child so many times, I never wanted to see it again, but awhile ago, I got a glimpse of parts of the movie and rediscovered the powerful metaphors within it. I can understand why it had such mass appeal for both young and old. There's something in it for everyone.
