Pelosi dismisses Obama-Clinton or Clinton-Obama as 'impossible'

(NECN) - Thinking a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket sounds too good to be true for Democrats? The Speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California says you're right.

"I think that ticket either way is impossible," Pelosi told NECN's Alison King shortly after an environmental event in Waltham, Massachusetts today.

Pelosi cited comments made by Clinton officials that John McCain would be a better commander-in-chief as an example of why the 'dream ticket' wouldn't become a reality.

As for who she favors at this point, Pelosi, who will chair the Democratic National Convention in Denver, isn't tipping her hand.

"I'm uncommitted," she reiterated to Alison King.

But for hopes of a Clinton-Obama dream team, there's no subtlety.

"I wanted to be sure I didn't leave any ambiguity," she said.

Wait to unite the party for November, Ms. Speaker!

She's doing all she can to hold the party together under the strain of the Clintonites.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

In a modest town where honest people dwell

--July 22---------Sent I-129F packet

--July 27---------Petition received

--August 28------NOA1 issued

--August 31------Arrived in Terrace after lots of flight delays to spend Lindsay's birthday with her

--October 10-----Completed address change online

--January 25-----NOA2 received via USCIS Case Status Online

As it was pointed out by Obama, you can't unite the Party by claiming on one hand your opponent isn't ready to be President and then claim that having your opponent on your ticket would be unstoppable.

You're right but the Clintonites can't see the obvious anymore.

And Pelosi should shut her mouth. She has no business speaking out about anything except to say no comment. Altho, she's hinted rather clearly at her bias. ;)

If she has a bias, so do all of we. Speech is protected in a 'silly' little document called the Bill of Rights.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

As one of the Party Leaders, she certainly has a say...

Pelosi: Don't overrule the voters

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- who may be the most super delegate of all as chair of the Democratic national convention in Denver -- gave an interview with Bloomberg TV's Al Hunt in which she laid down the law for super delegates:

Don't veto the people's choice.

"I think there is a concern when the public speaks and there is a counter-decision made to that," she said, adding quickly, "I don't think that will happen."

She said the governors, lawmakers, DNC members and others picked as super delegates are chosen through a grassroots process and are accountable to the party's voters.

"I do think that they have a respect -- it's not just following the returns, it's also having a respect for what has been said by the people," Pelosi said. "It would be a problem for the party if the verdict would be something different than the public has decided."

She is Speaker of the House & has a duty to remain neutral, as does Dean. It's not rocket science.

My prediction for Devilette: if Obama wins the nom, she votes McCain and through doing so is finally liberated enough to realize she's been a Republican all along.
