There really doesn’t seem to be any pattern to how VSC is approving people. They received my I-129F on Feb 7th and sent out the NOA1 on the same day. It was then touched a couple of times, but they haven’t been near it since Feb 24th. People are being approved in record time and others are just gathering dust….

Does anyone know what checks they actually do when they process the petition? I mean Toby’s name check etc should be fine. He was in the Marine Corps for 8 years and had an excellent record, but I wondered if having a military background would maybe be a problem.

I’m probably overthinking everything but I only just got back from visiting him and it breaks my heart that I’m back in England. I just wish they’d hurry things up so I can be with him again.

I know we’re all in the same boat, but I just felt like a bit of a moan………

5th February 2008 - I-129F forms sent for K1 visa (VSC)

Hey there - in practically same boat as you. I filed the petition on January 31st, got the NOA1 on February 5th -- we were touched a few times, and then nothing since February 24th.

There is no logic, rhyme nor reason to the order ... and it's obviously not a transparent process, or we would all understand it better. I'm getting ready to go visit Stephen tomorrow, and with the way the approval were flying, I was hopeful we might of had ours before I left, but hasn't happened. I'm most certain we'll all be approved, obviously in the time needed. But yes, it can get a little frustrating seeing some of the approvals, however, when I have my moments, I think of the people who filed in August through December that have seen January & February approvals and they are still waiting ...

And the days right after leaving have always seemed the hardest to me, so I know how you are feeling, and I am most certain I will be feeling that way at the end of the month when I come back to the states ...

Praying we all get approvals as quickly as possible!!!! (Like today would be good ;))

I hope you have a wonderful time in the US. It's just horrible having to come back. People keep joking to me that I only go over there for the weather, but honestly, if he lived in the North Pole i'd still want to be whereever he is.

I know what you mean about those who have been waiting so much longer than us, but I can't help wishing for my approval to come through faster. I would just like to know that the first part of the process is done so that we can move on tothe next stage.

I must just be in a whiny mood today....

I agree i havent been touched since the 24th either, I knew it was gonna take some time when i entered into this, and I wouldnt mind waiting if I felt that there was some process but now some are getting approved in 20 days or less and it just doesnt seem fair. They should be working on the oldest files not the newest, its just not right.

I'm actually with you there. If there appeared to be a pattern to the process, and they actually approved people in order of receipt then I don’t think I would feel quite so whiny. It’s just a bit of a lottery and there are people waiting months for no apparent reason whilst others get approved in a couple of weeks!

And just to make it clear, I don’t resent those who have got their early approvals. I’m happy for all of you….happy and envious.

I think some days are easier than others and the day when my NOA2 comes through all this waiting will feel like it was a lifetime ago. I think at the moment it just feels like being in limbo…. I wonder what it is they are doing, how they are choosing which cases to work. How do they prioritise?

Does anyone else feel like (as the beneficiary) they are living in a place that no longer feels like home?

Yes I have a home to pack up at some stage but cant even start on that till i know we are at least approved.

I read a thread yesterday from a Feb appoval expaining how the file was put together, which is all well and good, but it shouldnt matter how the file looks, its the information contained in it that matters.

Well, I thought mine was put together ok, everything was labelled and explained. Photo’s were clipped together etc…In essence everything they need to know was in there, so there should be no cause for an RFE. However it does seem that everyone who was ‘touched’ on Feb 24th has been stuck since then and not gone anywhere. I wonder why..

When people say they were touched, what does that mean?

It means someone has looked at the file, or moved it, or updated it. I'm beginning to wonder if someone took a bunch of our files home on the 24th Feb and has been off sick ever since!
