CDC: At Least 1 in 4 Girls Ages 14 to 19 Has Sexually Transmitted Disease

At least one in four teenage girls nationwide has a sexually transmitted disease, or more than 3 million teens, according to the first study of its kind in this age group.

A virus that causes cervical cancer is by far the most common sexually transmitted infection in teen girls aged 14 to 19, while the highest overall prevalence is among black girls — nearly half the blacks studied had at least one STD. That rate compared with 20 percent among both whites and Mexican-American teens, the study from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found.

Among girls who admitted ever having sex, the rate was 40 percent. While some teens define sex as only intercourse, other types of intimate behavior including oral sex can spread some infections.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Well, that's not that high, considering the prevalence of the virus that causes cervical cancer. You can't protect yourself against that one, so using condoms won't help. It's so common that pretty much anyone who has sex is bound to get some strain of HPV, although it may not be the one that causes cancer (not sure if the writer knew that).

Other STDs like Herpes are commonly spread while using a condom, and lots of teens probably only think to put on the condom before penetration, while lots of STDs can be spread before that.

At the end of the day, there's only one STD that's incurable and a big deal, and that's HIV.
