I've been recieving DSP payments from Centrelink for almost 2 years now, due to having severe depression, and have been worried about it looking bad for my case.

I've had the depression for a number of years, but since meeting my fiancee it's been less and less of a problem, because she just has that effect on me. I know that when I get my visa that it wont be an issue, and I don't rely on the medication anymore, but will they see it this way? or would it be wise to make sure I'm off it before the interview? I know they'll do a background check on my fiancee and I, and I'm not ashamed by it, but if it's going to put doubts in their mind's about my future with my fiancee, then I want to make sure I'm off it.

It's been a problem for me for a few years, and resulted in me being unable to finish school, but I want to move on to a new stage of my life, and don't want them to see this as a serious stumbling block.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I would suggest that you see the Doctor that is treating you for the depression and have him or her write a letter on your behalf so you can take it to the required immigration medical exam. I dont think having depression will be a big deal. What they will look at if you are a danger to yourself or others, but if you have a letter from your doctor explaing about your improvement it will help.
