Scenario for K-3

A. Have a small engagement ceremony with family at home in India

B. Get court marriage done in India.

C. Then file for K-3.

D. When the interview date comes, go to India and get married with traditional Hindu ceremony.

Here are my questions:

1) Will they approve this kind of case for K-3? What kind of issues do you see with it?

2) Has anybody got K-3 approved in this kind of scenario where only court marriage was done?

3) Do they need wedding pictures to prove a marriage for K-3 because that won't be available while petitioning?

4) Does it matter if marriage ceremony is done before or after the interview?

Thanks.

I think you might have a problem with not having any wedding pictures, religious ceremnony etc. The majority of people who go through India are expected to provide these picture proofs at the interview.

That being said, I am sure there are people who may have gone the court marriage route and still gotten a visa (and hopefully they respond).

As for your cermony itself, even if you have it after the K3 is approved, it won't matter since that is the spousal visa (vs. the K1 fiancee visa).
