Hi guys,

Just a simple question regarding this form.At the bottom it says to attach evidence of financial support, birth certificates (mine AND my US fiance?) and police certificates.

Im assuming these are photocopies, not originals to be included and sent back in this packet, right?.

Cheers!,

Grae,

Yes, you submit the copies with the application - except for the letters of intent to marry and I believe the letter from the petitioner's employer - and bring the originals of the others with you to the interview so they can compare them if necessary. We actually got two signed employment letters although that wasn't needed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

So I thought that birth cert. and police cert. had to go but do we have to send in my fiance's I-134 (Affidavit of Support) with packet three? I was thinking that it was taken to the interview! The financial support stuff is what seems to be the most confusing.

In the packet 3(Dublin embassy) they only asked me to send the DS 230 part 1 and the notification of readiness. Not DS16k. They have asked not to send any evidence to them, just bring it to the interview- and evidence of support as well.

Read yor instructions carefully. It will say exactly what to do. They printed this on my instructions with capital letters:

DO NOT SEND THEM (EVIDENCE) TO THIS OFFICE. BRING THEM TO YOUR INTERVIEW.

-passport

-photographs

-evidence of support (affidavit of support form and supporting documents)

-birth certificate- must state names of both parents

-police certificates

-marriage certificate, divorce decree

-medical examination

-evidence of relationship

Obtain the documents from the checklist. Do NOT send them to this office.

Hope I understood your question properly. Hope it helps you in any way.

Thank you all for your help. It's tough for the US citizen at first cuz all the pressure of the paperwork is on them but that switches at this point! I wish I could fly over to my fiance and help with the paperwork-maybe save some nerves for both of us. :-)

For those of you who have completed already, how long did you have packet three in your possession before you sent it back in??

Also, anyone going through London embassy? What has been your experience? Does the I-134 go in with packet three or taken to interview?

My situation is a little different, as I personally picked up my Packet 3/4 at the embassy here in Costa Rica and scheduled the appointment at that time. I then bring in ALL the completed forms on that date.

My understanding is that usually the I-134 goes with you to the interview, not sent to them.

The form in Packet 3 says I have to complete and return forms: DS-230 part 1,DS-156,DS-156k and DS-157.

Its the DS 156k that asks for evidence of support to be attached to the form.

First it says "we do not want any of you personal documents at this stage.

DO NOT SEND ANY DOCUMENTS WITH THESE FORMS.

Then it says: Please complete and return forms: DS-230 part 1,DS-156,DS-156k and DS-157.

The DS 156k asks for evidence of support to be attached to the form.

I guess I just ignore that part of the form then.
