Missing Info/864-ds230

Hello all,

We mailed the completed DS230 back to the NVC on April 13th and were convinced that all the i's were dotted and t's were crossed, but to no avail, no surprise, a checklist was generated. In the NVC recording it was noted that the checklist was mailed from Portsmouth, NH on 4/24 and mind you, I only live 20 minutes from Portsmouth, we received the checklist on May 1 and it required more documentation and complete answers to items within the DS230. That wsa the least of the problems. Apparently my wife had a lapse in her time line for places she had lived since reaching the age of 16 (#20 on the DS230) and by correcting the mistake we are now required to obtain a CNCC (police certificate) from Hong Kong, finger prints, authorization letters, etc... Just when you think all is well, whammmmmmm. This request will set us back at a minimum 4 weeks +. What makes this so difficult is that she is pregnant and we have a due date of June 26th and I had high hopes this would have been completed in time for her to have the child in the US. QUESS NOT! Oh well, I needed to vent, hope I didn't bore anyone.

I understand. I do...

I would have liked to have my husband spend some time with his step-son over the summer so they could have a nice start together. They are fine friends already, but it would have been nice if it could have been the way I wanted it to be.

What my husband tries to tell me is to let go of the things I cannot control. It is a hard task to master-but I have gotten plenty of practice lately.

Hi All,

I have had a SERIOUSLY bad day. Sad. lonely, missing my beloved and tired-bad combo !

When I came home from an overbooked day at work, I decided to phone up the NVC to see if anything has gone on with our case since Thursday...

They received the last of our paperwork on April 24th.

When I phoned up, I was informed via automated response that a "checklist" was sent out yesterday. Apparently, there's some missing/incomplete info. I was devastated. I know I dotted all my "i"'s and crossed all of my "t"'s... I am so upset...I figure it will cost us yet another week or two sorting this out...I thought we were in the last lap of this miserable stretch.

So, knowing I'd find some strong shoulders here-I decided to post my lament.

I found a thread from Legaleagle-the same thing happened to her, Mary and Angel this week...when Mary and Angel spoke with operators, they were told that their cases were complete...

Is there anyone else that this has happened to??

I pray that this is the same problem for us and when I call them Monday, they will say that our case is complete as well...

Please send us some good energy...we really need some today.

I was just wondering if they have recieved your fax yet or if you have recieved the checklist in the mail...........I too was mailed a check list on the 29th but i knew about it befor hand so i faxed the missing info on the 29th...........however, NVC has not matched the fax to my case yet and i have not recieved the checklist in the mail............Should i be concerned????????????

You faxed missing info before getting the checklist? I doubt very much that they would even accept the missing info via a fax. I would be giving them a call and speaking to an operator. Other then that all you can do is wait for the hard copy in the mail and then return what they have requested. It has only been a few days since it was mailed out so give it time. All the best

I was surprised also Lorelle but I phoned two separate times and got the same answer. They said to title the fax "Checklist Response Letter", put the case file number prominently on the top right hand corner of each page of the fax and send it. She told me exactly what was missing.

I got the real checklist today and will send it in also just in case.

Just a quick note that I checked the automated messaging at NVC this morning and it has been changed. It now says they have received my checklist response and please allow 4-6 weeks for processing (as always).

It would seem that the fax option worked.

Thats great.................Lucky u............I sent in my fax befor you did and i just called NVC and they told me they wont accept the fax and i have to send it in when i recieve the checklist..............Why is it that you always get different answeres from NVC.............
