Hi All,

I have had a SERIOUSLY bad day. Sad. lonely, missing my beloved and tired-bad combo !

When I came home from an overbooked day at work, I decided to phone up the NVC to see if anything has gone on with our case since Thursday...

They received the last of our paperwork on April 24th.

When I phoned up, I was informed via automated response that a "checklist" was sent out yesterday. Apparently, there's some missing/incomplete info. I was devastated. I know I dotted all my "i"'s and crossed all of my "t"'s... I am so upset...I figure it will cost us yet another week or two sorting this out...I thought we were in the last lap of this miserable stretch.

So, knowing I'd find some strong shoulders here-I decided to post my lament.

I found a thread from Legaleagle-the same thing happened to her, Mary and Angel this week...when Mary and Angel spoke with operators, they were told that their cases were complete...

Is there anyone else that this has happened to??

I pray that this is the same problem for us and when I call them Monday, they will say that our case is complete as well...

Please send us some good energy...we really need some today. :(

Thanks.

Hi,

Same thing happened to me this week, but I wans't as fortunate as the others. I called and managed to egt through to an operator and they told me that the missing documentation was in fact a W-2 for my wife's 2005 tax form. The problem is there is no W-2 as she made the money in Canada. When I told that to the operator she said that when I get the checklist just write a letter explaining that and we will be fine.

So now we wait until we get the checklist and be sure that is the only thing then send it back.

Nothing to be done but wait. Try to gather some peace knowing we are all in the same boat and that regardless of the bumps in the road the journey will end soon enough.

Take care,

Ed

Thanks for the good wishes...

Ed-they told you what the missing doc's were over the phone??

I am just in a state of wondering what could be wrong...perhaps they want my professional license??? I am a massage therapist, and well...let's just say there's quite a few unlicensed & unethical ones out there. I am NY State licensed and insured...Maybe they're trying to make sure that they aren't issuing a visa to the husband of a hooker-LOL I dunno. I just wonder what's wrong...and it just kills me that I cannot find out until Monday !!

The checklist is sent to many ppl because they receive the DS 230 but the office that reviews your I864 doesn't have it there yet so they think it's still missing. That's why they send the checklist.

Talk to an operator, they have way more info and can tell you what's up. I am sure that it is simply the delay between offices though.

Today when I called the message had changed and case complete now at automated system, too.

I know it's hard right now because it is the weekend and no operators at NVC available.

I'm positive it's just that same problem. Call them on Monday, speak to an operator, tell them you got message of docs missing and they'll let you know what's up

Good luck,

Thanks Angel.

I didn't know it went to two separate offices. I hope that is all it is...

We sent in the 864 just a few days before the ds-230, so here's hoping that's all it is !!!

I plan on calling them as soon as they open on monday.

Hi Ed,

I found out:

Seems that they want ppl to wait for the checklist and then send it in via post. The guy I spoke with said not to fax anything....

As for my situation:

I have learned that they want me to add my sister onto my 864 as a household member, and combine our salaries. To me, it seems RIDICULOUS. She lives downstairs in my house, neither of us claims the other as dependants, and our finances are completely seperate entities. The only common thing we have is that she is our joint sponsor and we happen to live in the same house. Makes no sense...

Worse still, is they say it can take up to 4 weeks to get the papers needed to correct this...Then, they must review them...

I am so aggravated I cannot see straight. Maybe, just maybe I will have my husband here by Christmas...

It's enough to make my blood boil.

This is what I get for trying to do things the right way...

Suffice to say, I am very pissed off right now.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in answering. Yes, they told me what documents over the phone. They told me only one. If there are more I won't know until I get the checklist.

As to faxing it in dadowanana, do you think I can fax it in before I receive the RFE in the mail???

Ed

(F)(F) I was told i could fax it and they gave me this number: 603 334 0791.. However I have been told but advisors that its sometimes better to wait for the checklist............I faxed it........Can not wait anymore :star::star:

Hi,

Perhaps the NVC guy thought I was asking about faxing due to my situation??? I dunno...It would make sense to allow faxing, but none of this makes sense to me today...

Why is it that when you speak to 5 different ppl over there, you get 5 different answers???

If you know what exactly is missing, you can also self generate your checklist response, and mail it back to NVC. This may save you some time.

Thank You Sam. :D

You're always there helping us out with the shortcuts- I LOVE IT !

I wish I could do that-but the guy who I spoke to couldn't even explain it properly...he was unclear about how to correct it...to be honest, I don't really trust what he said anyway. But all the same, I do appreciate your help. Thanks !

Well, I decided that even if I faxed it off and it went to no-man's-land then it would do no harm.

So I did.

I then called and got another operator and she said that the fax process would be fine just give them a day or two to react.

In the meantime I should get their package in a week or so (it was sent last Friday) and if by the time I get it they haven't closed out the AOS I wil send that ####### back too!!!!

Good luck and prayers for all of you.

Ed
