Hi all,

My DH just got a lay off from his work, i was his sponsor on the AOS in 2006. I am planning to quit my job in July(hope he finds something then) if we both have no work can i apply for welfare? and also do we need a sponsor for lifting conditions? which we are applying in Sep.

If i am without work and he is having a job does he still require a sponsor? My baby is due Aug 3 and planning to go back in Oct if they keep me?

Any idea on this kinda situation!!! :help:

NO, once you have a sponsor, that sponsor is the immigrant's sponsor until one of the following conditions happens.

  • The sponsor dies.
  • The immigrant (Green-card holder) dies.
  • The immigrant leave the USA and gives up residency.
  • The immigrant naturalizes and becomes a US Citizren.
  • The immigrant works and is credited with 40 quarters of work.

The sponsor for AOS is still the sponsor, and no additional affidavit of support is needed.

USCIS does not ask for a sponsor for lifting conditions. Please read the I-751 instructions.

NO  you already have one, that will not change.

You may want to read the I-751 guide, no where in the guide does it ask for sponsor info, that was provided to get the CR-Green-card, that wont change.
