RFE COVERSHEET

Hello everyone! I would like to ask if anyone has experienced this. This is our case, we got an RFE for a very minor case and that is to print (handprint) the petitioner's name before signing in form I-864, in our case it was computer printed. We called NVC and found out about this and was later told to just send a new one (write the case number on the upper right hand corner)without waiting for the checklist and cover letter. So we did mail it, 3 days after we called NVC to check if they got it and another operator told us that we needed the COVERLETTER. This morning we checked in again our case was still not entered and another operator told us it's ok if there's no coverletter for as long as the case number was written. So, around lunch the mailman dropped off the mail from NVC....should we just send it in? Won't it hurt the case because of duplicate paper work? Basing from other RFE stories here, they really sent it out with a coverletter. Any similar case? thanks.
