So I quote something or metta does - and it's automatically ####### because you say so? And you asked for more civility, how ironic.

Round & round we go.....what's with the rabid defense of Obama?

VJ Sheesh.

The rabid defense of Obama is because I think the racism from some people supporting Hillary is disgusting.

Who's McCain again? :P

:P He was interviewed on 60 Minutes last night. I find him to have a lot of great qualities.

So, does that mean we can count on your vote for McCain? I had you figured for a Clinton supporter.

I live in Chicago and can " assure " ^_^ you that Obama was not as big a part of that Chicago machine as you may think he was.

Leaving Rhezko aside, the part about what he did during his time in Chicage that indicates that political change is a fundamental belief is fair game. Did he propose measures that were thwarted? Did he feel that change is only necessary in Washington? Did he impliment some politically significant measures?

Good questions. From knowing some of his local political associates and some of the positions they have tried to promote here in Chicago and in Illinois (not always the same inclusive thing), the machine works very much like a hegemony. For example, city politics involves the Mayor and the County Commissioner. Going against Mayor Daley is like asking for early retirement. The only problem for Obama is that he had to play a little ball and pay his dues in order to make his way in politics locally. That is something all politicians know of as a rite of passage and rarely is reflected throughout the rest of their careers, much like all other politicians I know of... barring those loyal to the machine their entire lives and Obama is a far cry from that kind of behavior.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That post is quite ridiculous and quite possibly violates a TOS.

That post is just fairplay. I guess accusing a person of sexism is somehow more tolerable than racism?

he had several more like that today.

And I will keep it up until you stop accusing me and many others of sexism every chance you get.

So, what he has done is no indication either way of what he might do? Ok, what policies is he proposing that would fundamentally change the WH should he be elected? No one so far has come up with anything substantial. The lobbyist proposal doesn't really impress me that much.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

He won't vandalize the White House at the end of his term, I'd bet.

Who accused you of sexism? All I have seen is two posts accusing people who support Hilary of racism and I can see absolutely no evidence of this supposed racism. How is that fair or reasonable?

Um... PH, same as Hillary... get us the dodge out of Iraq for starters.

CNN's candidate section has a roughly general outline of the issues and where each candidate stands:

I am really trying to understand this. So, are you saying that he isn't proposing any radical reform of political structure, or that he is, but so is the other candidate?

* Voted to end $300 million worth of tax breaks for businesses. (2004)

* Voted for having Illinois endorse embryonic stem cell research. (2004)

* Voted against restrictions on public funding of abortion. (2000)

* Successfully co-sponsored a prescription drug discount buying club program for seniors and the disabled. (2003)

* Unsuccessfully co-sponsored ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation. The measure became law after Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate. (2003)

* Successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform called the Gift Ban Act. (1998)

Also...

With the assistance of Senator Jones, Mr. Obama helped deliver what is said to have been the first significant campaign finance reform law in Illinois in 25 years. He brought law enforcement groups around to back legislation requiring that homicide interrogations be taped and helped bring about passage of the state's first racial-profiling law. He was a chief sponsor of a law enhancing tax credits for the working poor, played a central role in negotiations over welfare reform and successfully pushed for increasing child care subsidies.

If you haven't figured it out, I was being facetious in making those claims. I don't think people are sexist for supporting Obama. I also don't think people are racist for questioning him. However, the same holds true with Clinton. My belief that Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy has nothing to do with her crotch and everything to do with her history.

Devillette accuses people of sexism on a daily basis without any substantial backing.

I have just finally had enough of the "sexism" card being thrown. It's insulting and obnoxious. I stooped and started mocking. Forgive me.
