Thank you Kathyrn.

I am familiar with this thread.

However, on the DS-230, information about my husband's profession, university degree, places of employment, schools he attended, where he lived all his life - have already been provided. The only differences are now they want it in CV format - and - they want personal references (people they can call).

It is not about our marriage - it because of his profession and that he is from Iran.

Belinda, you crack me up!

I had a couple of beers last night - no vicoden. I feel numb enough already. It's amazing how being depressed can make you feel so numb and out of it.

What is the deal with your fiance?

I know you have been keeping a low profile.

Thank you Sarah.

My husband realizes that money does not come before me. He's now making noises that he can "liquidate" his assets more quickly (just get his investment back - no more, no less). He was hoping to make some profit and that was the hold up.

Yes, Nutty,

I think you are right - it has to do with his profession and being from Iran probably didn't help. I hope it all gets sorted out quickly and the two of you can be happily together in the US very soon.

Tina,

Hang in there baby. Drugs and booze are not the answer (unless I can join you).

It will work out, the consulates are just a bunch of government employees who know their jobs are secure unless they commit a MAJOR bad thing. They don't care about you, me, or our significant others.

As to your husband, at risk of being called a sexist, I think it is a man thing.

My SO, who has been in security checks for more than a year has decided he needs to buy a car to replace his worn out truck and try to start a new business venture. I wonder in my head, how can u do this, plan for a future there when we are just waiting for the visa. I mean I have pretty much put my life on hold for the past year.....

It is just the way men think, when he has the visa in his hands (hopefully very soon) he will panic and you will be amazed at how fast he will wrap things up and be by your side.

Hang in there, you have made it this far, don't let the government wear you out.

Men, I tell ya!

I keep hearing this song on TV and it reminds me of my husband. I want it all, and I want it now!

It sounds like he is like most men. Thinks for today, not what is ahead. Drives ya crazy, but it will eventually work out sweety.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

I feel a little better today...

Worked on that damn CV.

I am sure it means more AP is in the pipeline.

Will have a tall beer tonight!

Husband emailed and said getting his principal investment would not take much time. But trying to sell the property for a profit is what he wanted to do (and this was his reason for the delay to USA). A difference of $3000.00. He could be waiting for forever if he's just hanging around waiting for a potential buyer. So I am going to tell him sell it now or call the company now.

Hi!

I understand your concern-- my fiancee had to go through the same CV request. She is a PhD candidate in Germany and our consulate is in Frankfurt. She was applying for a B-1 visitor visa only at the time. I was stunned at the interview when they requested her resume/CV listing experience, publications, etc. We had all other requested documents ready but they never review them-- they only wanted a CV. It wasn't a burden to provide the info but for the life of me I have no idea why a CV was necessary, especially when it wasn't previously required. Anyway, just wanted to share our experience; I'm not sure how much it is related to your situation. btw, we had no problems receiving the b-1 and everything went fine-- likely, you are over-reacting a bit. :)

Peace and Patience be w/ you
