Thanks Don E. Good luck also. Thanks too all Feb filers who have been supportive throughout the process. It's not yet over but I'm positive that we will soon be with our loved ones. Good luck to all of us.

I hear ya! An update from me, Called the CSC 1 week after they said they needed to order my file back. The lady said the officer had recevied it, I then asked if it had been sent to the NVC yet. She said she didn't know but will call the officer and find out then call me back. AND SHE ACTUALLY CALLED BACK!!!! The next morning, said that our case had been sent to the NVC but she did not say a specific day. So I am back to calling the NVC every day, Thankfully their phones are open until midnight. SO thursday the 21st will make week 9 since NOA2 and it is still not at the NVC yet. I fly home on the 21st to go through 3 weeks of mail, maybe there will be a nice letter waiting for me.

Sorry to hear that you and cwaf are both still waiting for your file to get to the NVC. That is just plain ridiculous! I guess it's still not clear to me quite what's going on. As you understand, what exactly has happened (or not happened) with your file since the petition was approved? BTW, it would seem like some kind of minor miracle that the woman at the CSC actually called you back AND was actually helpful! ;)

I hope you guys get some good news soon!

Alright, my calls to the NVC where meet with busy signals or all operators are busy. So will try again tomorrow.

Here's the scoop Don

From how I understood it from the nice people at the CSC. Since approval on June 19th, there was some clerical error made which sent my file to "Pergatory", now exactly where that is I was not told. The first CSC person said they had an idea what happened to it. When I asked where it went, thats when I was told it was a clerical error and they would have to order the file. He did not elaborate, I asked again and was only told that he was ordering it right now and it should take about a week and I should wait a week before I called asking about it. I asked again where it was, same answer ordering it now, wait one week.

Which I did, exactly one week later I called and talked to CSC person #2. She said that the file had been received by the officer. I asked if she could tell me what is happening with it or if it has been sent to the NVC yet. She said she had to call the officer and put me on hold. When she came back she said the officer was not at their desk and to leave my number. She would call me. I did so with very little faith in hearing back. The next morning I received a voicemail on my cell from the same CSC lady. She told me my file was sent to the NVC and it could take 30 days to get there but she did not say what day it was sent.

So, until I get home Thursday night, I will be calling the NVC every day. I called about every hour today and could not make it through.

Morning, cwaf. You know, after the initial 5 months of CSC bullshit, things have moved along at an incredibly rapid pace. I mean, NVC received my file 1 week after NOA2, they dispatched it to London 2 days after that, and London posted it to me 4 days after that!! The only reason it took 10 days to get to my house from the embassy, is because they didn't use the correct postcode!!!

I can only think that it's an "embassy efficiency" thing, as those going through London seem to be having no issues whatsoever. But hang on in there, buddy, you know it's gonna happen soon. Lord knows my work here is not done until you have your missus with you stateside!!

Cool beans!!! But doesn't she have to receive/fill in/send off the packet 3 forms before her embassy can schedule the interview? Or did you already do that electronically?

Total result either way I guess!

No..in Ukraine, you can download packet 3 from the Embassy website and fill it all in. Nothing is sent in ahead of time, not even the signature checklist. All is carried in at the time of the interview. We downloaded everything a long time ago, but the new DS-156 and DS-156k forms were completed online and printed out to be signed. I took them with me in May and gave them to Sveta. :-)

I'm kind of jealous of embassies that work this way! I believe the Manila embassy does, too. What's the standard wait for an interview in Ukraine?

they had been saying "two months out", but someone else from here has messages me and they had the chance to get one about 5 pr 6 weeks out--and that was a week or so ago. I am hoping the summer 'rush' is over and that it can be done in about 4 or 5 weeks. They may STILL get here before the end of September! :-)

I hope they do! I didn't think any of us would still be waiting now...however, we're all going to get through it in the end, and that's what matters most. :) I thought that each stage would get a little bit easier but it doesn't...now I'm really, really worried that something will happen between now and when Dennis crosses the border. I've heard about some of the smaller POEs have given people trouble...I really hope we don't have a problem!

We will probably come in through JFK, and I have heard they can get the work permit at that time. However, if Chicago flights are much less expensive, I will not hesitate to fly through there and worry about the permits later! I do not have much of a choice as to large or small POE since I will bring them back internationally. I hope you have no trouble! About 5 years ago I drove up to Winnipeg to visit a friend. I got the 3rd degree going into Canada, but only had a couple of questions when coming back. I figured it would be tougher to enter the US rather than leave it, but I was surprised!
