Well cwaf me ol' mucka, I guess I couldn't hang on after all - I called the NVC!!! And I'm very glad I did! I spoke to the most delightful lady by the name of Kate, who took all my details, and informed me that my case had been received on July 30th (exactly 1 week after it left CSC), and that it had been shipped to the embassy in London on August 1st - only 2 days after they received it! B)

Nearly there, mate, nearly there!

CONGRATS!! I may have beat you to the NVC, but now I am stuck in NVC Hell hahahahaha I am happy for my fellow Feb 19th members!!

I'm still there with you cwaf

thanks! the only difference is yours has already been sent to your Embassy. :-) You are almost there!! :star:

Squee!! I just got a response from the consulate about the interview date! I went into panic mode at first because the letter starts out by saying "We have received your fax, but you need to complete question no. 20 as you must write FROM/TO. Please resend the completed DS-230 only. As soon as we receive the completed form, we will mail your interview appointment letter" and I went into panic mode at that point without reading the rest "for 16 September 2008."

So...Dennis has to fax the form back, but our interview will be September 16! :) I'm so excited! I finally have a date...that means Dennis and I will be driving home on September 19th. :)

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

FYI, I thought that I'd share more details of what (may have) happened with my petition after it was approved on July 9.

July 21 - According to information provided to my Congresswoman's office from the CSC, the file was sent from the CSC on July 21.

July 29 - NVC acknowledges receipt of my file.

July 30 - According to my Congresswoman's office, the file was sent from the NVC to the Moscow Embassy.

Watching DHL shipments from the NVC to Moscow beginning July 29, there were two shipments on July 29 which were delivered on July 30, and there was one shipment on July 31 which was delivered on August 4. When I called the DOS (in DC) on August 4, I was told that my case was at the Moscow Embassy as of that date, but no interview date had been scheduled yet. Based on that information, I've been guessing that my file must have been delivered on August 4. As of today, the Moscow Embassy has yet to acknowledge receipt of the file. If the DOS office in DC can tell me that it's in Moscow, I would think the people in the Consular Section of the Moscow Embassy would know it's there (and acknowledge that fact). I'm not worried, and I expect they will acknowledge receipt any day and schedule the interview.

I bet it's good to finally have some answers and some sort of reasoning about why it took so long! Even though there's no excuse for CSC taking that long to send it out. :ranting::thumbs: You'll have your interview date soon! That comes REALLY fast!

Congrats on the interview date Andrea!!!! Michelle will be flying home with me Sept 18. hopefully. We have this stupid document verification to go through with the consulate in Manila. It has held up alot of peoples visas due to the inept courier service they employ. I have been on them like white on rice though, pushing the docs every step of the way. I have to make another call this evening. Anyway GOOD LUCK!!!!

Don, I'm glad to see things are finally moving forward for you. Things should start moving at a better rate now.

I don't see why it would take 8 days to reach the NVC either. If you noticed, the "dots" don't necessarily connect......it's interesting. Bottom line - the file appears to finally be at the Embassy, and we should have an interview date soon.

Jon,

Glad to hear things are still moving for you and that you're continuing to push and prod. Hope things continue to go smoothly and as you're planning.

Congrats to you guys. Just a little over a month left and you guys will be with your special ones. I haven't gotten an interview date yet. I think I'll call the embassy next week to check what's up. I've emailed them...so we'll see if they actually respond (I doubt it).

I'm getting kind of nervous because I'm planning on going there and bringing her back with me in December, but the interview dates are set pretty far ahead (up to 2 months), and then after that some cases get put into AP. There's no knowing what can happen...but our case is very straight forward. I'm praying for the best though!

Well. She never said they had sent it ;) ... Just that they had received it... But Dave just got a letter dated 4 Aug saying that they had it and it would be sent within the next week. Standard letter I think.

So I am at a loss to know when it really arrived, or left, or indeed where it is now. I may call the Embassy just in case it is already there.

I am gutted that the packet 3 will probably arrive just a couple of days into my holiday with Dave :( That will probably delay the interview by 2 weeks. But I can't think of a way round it.
