Thanks Craig & Julia! I was just on the phone with my fiance and he was laughing at me because I don't even know what a touch tone phone is. Do you have your case number already?

No, Craig hasn't called them yet, he said it says to wait 2 weeks on the NOA2

OK, so I was wondering what the etiquette for postings on this specific topic of the forum is once NOA2 has been obtained... I've been a feb 2008 CSC filer, and hence have been posting on this board. Since I have my NOA2, and now my application is at my designated (London) consulate, where do I post my "new" questions? Here, or somewhere else?

I have a question regarding the form DS 156 (https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp?lang=1)...question 36....I see the example form on visajourney says "no" (see here http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-156.pdf), whilst many discussions on this and other visa discussions forums (searched google for "DS156 question 36") think both yes and no are perfectly good answers, with neither a yes or a no causing problems at the interview stage....thoughts anyone?

You're perfectly welcome to post here NOA2 and consulate or not...we'll do our best to give you answers...however the other person who said you'll get better answers on the regional board was right. A lot of the consulates have their own personal little tricks and demands. For example, I know exactly what the Vancouver consulate wants for proof of income with the I-134...but I have no idea what the London consulate wants. :) So...I suppose it boils down to...ask wherever you think you'll get the best answer.

As for the answer to question 36...I would just tell the truth. If someone has applied for one, say yes...it's never good to lie and they'll find out anyway. If this is the first one, I would say no...which is technically true even if you consider THIS application, since technically a K-1 is NOT an immigrant visa.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

hi everyone,

i just have question.... can i start gathering my docs..like tax receipts from IRS ..etc even without NOA2 yet?? I got a RFE email on july 22 and i mailed the docs as soon as i got the snail mail( actually same day i got it). i logged on the USCIS website if they touched me today..i didnt see any changes yet! But the postal servise sent me an email confirming that they delivered my mail! I'm trying to think positive and hope my NOA2 is coming soon. It wouldn't hurt if i start getting the docs isn't it????

ps... ..congratulations to all who got their NOA 2 recently!!! and for us who are still waiting..let's just hang on and keep praying!!! our time is coming soon!!! we are in a better position than sunnybear who's #1 in igors list!! if she could wait this long..we can too!! i hope her NOA2 will come soon!!

Ok, so the worst news ever, or almost ever. Our co-sponsor bailed on us and we should be getting our NOA2 anytime now. We have been splitting hairs trying to think of what to do and I was thinking of something but I need some feedback and hope at least someone will have an answer.

I heard you can count childsupport IF you have a court ordered amount. My ex does NOT want to go back to court, and I kinda dont either, currently I have full and sole custody of the kids, he has already said if he has to go back to court hes going to push for joint custody. When we got a divorce he was unemployeed so they set the childsupport at the lowest they could, $50 per month for two kids. Well, while I am not in love with him and I thank God that we are no longer together he isnt the worst in the world, and so he pays extra every month beyond the $50 they take out of his pay. In addition he provides the kids medical and dental insurance. He has agreed to sign a contract and have it notarised for how much he actually pays. With that money in childsupport counted, I meet the income requirement. The only thing I want to know, is will they accept a notarised paper signed by both me and my ex about how much he pays as long as it state that he will continue to provide that support until the kids reach the age of 21?

I would love to be able to do this myself instead of having to try to drum up another co-sponsor at the last minute. What do you guys think? Would it be enough? He said he would be willing to provide proof of the money he has given.

Morning all. Another day passes, another empty email box. I'm slightly more pissed off about it than usual today as well, because I lost my ###### mobile phone somewhere yesterday, and anyone who's done that knows how much it riles!! :ranting:

Morning Damian, morning all.

Same situation there but the mobile. I'm so sorry for you as I know that kind of issue.

I do my best to stay strong about that ####### wait. But. OH GOD it's so hard!

Ah Miss Yoko, my long-suffering "February Club" buddy - nice to see ya! You and me will get through this, and probably be approved on the same day! Although I'm starting to suspect that the day in question may well be a lot cloer to '09 than we'd like to believe. :hehe:

Nice to see you too Damian :)

Will see, i don't know how I do that but I still have hopes. But every day it kills me more and more and more.

I know that someday we will laugh about it but right now it's not the case.

hi guys, please give me the number of NVC. i tried calling 1603-334-0700 but it's always busy. I wanted to test the number first to see if it's working before I ask my fiance to call them.

That is the number on my NOA2 letter that arrived today. They said the hours are between 8am and 6:45pm EST. Supposedly you are should be prompted to enter the receipt number from the approval notice. I have not tried calling since my letter just came today. I hope you can get through!

Thanks cwaf. At least I know I have the right number. My fiance received hardcopy of NOA2 Thursday last week so I'll ask him to call by Wed or Thu. I do hope that every thing will be ok.

I don't know if you guys know this about the NVC phone number, but when you get through you have the choice to either talk to a real person (press 1 then 5) this is available limited hours 7am - 12am i think, or you can use the automated system where you enter your CIS number and it tells you about your case.

The automated system is available 24 hours a day. This way you can check at your leisure. I have checked twice now, and so far no record of my case.

Thanks Scarlett, I just tried the automated system. They don't have our record yet. I'll just ask my fiance to call them before the week ends.
