February filers at CSC

That's as good of a theory as any, I suppose. Just from random observations, it seems that the K-1 petitions get from the VSC to NVC in a couple of days after approval, generally. And, the same petitions from the CSC seem to often take at least a week and sometimes 2, 3 or more weeks. Based on proximity to the NVC, it would be understandable for the petitions to take a day or two more, in general, to get to the NVC from the CSC, as compared from VSC to NVC. But, the reality seems to be that CSC is much worse at getting the petitions out after they've been approved. After waiting so long for the approval, it just sucks to see that they can't even get the approved petition sent on to the NVC! I will be so glad when my petition is finally out of USCIS hands and in DOS hands!!

By the way, the woman I spoke with today suggested that I wait until July 23 to call again and check. I don't think so!!!!

:jest: yeah...after waiting for five months just to get to this point! Not very likely...just keep calling them, they have to get it soon!

Guys i'm going really crazy :clock:

Time is passing and nothing for us.

*hugs* I can't even imagine how much harder it must be having not seen each other for so long. You'll get it soon!! I think we'll be mostly through the February filers by the end of July. I hope everyone gets theirs soon! Next week is another week...let's hope CSC busts out on February like they did last week and this week!

Just for people's reference...this is a method of tracking your petition from the NVC to your embassy...it was posted by rouguewave and a lot of people have used it and found it works. However you have to know what day the NVC sent our petition out:

Please read with the understanding that there are No guarentees here, but just to give you all some information.

It appears that NVC uses DHL as their shipper for embassy packages bound for beneficiary's country embassy's. I know this is nothing new, but on the DHL website (www.dhl.com), you can search for packages based on reference and package number. The first thing you have to do is determine the package number that MIGHT contain your beneficiary's paperwork. As of this posting, this might help or this might drive you crazy. If NVC or DHL changes how they do things, this could all fall apart, but here goes....

Being good beaurcrats, NVC seems to usually code the reference with some form of the following: 'EXP 26 NOV 2007A' where the date is somewhere near (on or before by a day or two) the actual date of shipment. If you KNOW the date they shipped to the embassy (NVC told me and others) then you can adjust the date accordingly and search on reference. You'll see a list of shipments to each of the embassys they shipped to with that reference. For example, if you access the website and enter 'EXP 26 NOV 2007A' into the search by reference area, you'll see 3 pages of shipments. Make sure that the date range includes Nov 26 & 27, but it can be much wider.

You can then look down the list and click on the specific package going to the right embassy. It will contain all the current tracking information, as well as allow you to sign up for updates. Of course, there is no guarentee that you've got the exact package, because it doesn't list the contents. But you can be lulled into a hopeful state that it does, and at least know when THAT package gets to the embassy.

The only anomoly I found was there were packages shipped with 'EXPEDITE IV SECTION' as a reference. You can see an example by looking up shipment #8177298920. I found this one by doing a search by number and feeding in blocks of 25 shipment numbers, starting with the highest from the most recent day of shipment, based on the reference sequence. It appears that the shipment numbers are in order, but NOT sequential. This is probably due to the fact that they use pre-printed forms for shipping, with the numbers printed on them. However, there are gaps in the sequence so don't expect to get 25 returns for 25 numbers requested. There was a place where the number sequence made a HUGE change, but I attribute that to them running out of forms on one pre-printed pack of labels and some shipping guy just started with another set.

I think I'll call the NVC starting next week to see if they've gotten my petition. Those who have been approved...have you guys already sent your I-134's and supporting documents to your SO's?

Those waiting...I know you're getting sick and tired of hearing this, but hang in there. It'll come through when you least expect it. By the way CSC updated their processing times.

I'm getting everything ready right now. In fact I just requested my employer letter from my primary job (I already have it from the other one). Anyone have any ideas who it should be addressed to? Is "to whom it may concern" acceptable?

I got my letter from my office yesterday. My HR manager asked me what it's for and I told her that it's for my Fiancee's visa. She just addressed it, "To Whom it May Concern". So yeah... I think that should work.

My HR person emailed me back and said that policy states she HAS to address it to some person or entity. I haven't seen it yet, but I think she's going to address it to the Vancouver Embassy.

Congrats on your file getting to the NVC, Andrea!!!

I just called again to check on mine, and they don't have it yet. Jon's petition was approved on July 8 and has already been received and sent out by the NVC. Yours was approved on July 11 and has already been received by the NVC. Mine was approved on July 9, and they don't have it yet. What's up with that? Another example of how things just don't add up!

I was thinking about you this morning and hoping that mine arriving meant that yours had arrived, too. :( I wonder if it has to do with how fast the adjudicators get them off their desks after approval. Like maybe some adjudicators pass them along immediately, but others keep them on their desk...or fill a box and only bring it to be shipped when the box is full. I dunno...I'm just theorizing, but it seems like that might be it.

From what I have seen explained, the CSC does not ship the individual petition immediately to the NVC. They wait until a pallet load has been accumulated and ship a lot at one time. So I guess it depends on which end of that pallet load you were on. if you are one of the first approved for that particular load, you have a much longer time to wait before shipping than does the one who was the last to be approved for that load. I suppose the time averages out for the approved people so everyone is waiting about the same time. One is approved faster but waits to see it shipped, while the other waits longer to be approved, but ships right away. I just want to be approved!!!!

I've heard that theory before...and it seems logical and is probably true to a certain point...but it doesn't explain people like Don who has Jon approved before him and me approved after him...and both Jon and I have our petitions at NVC now. Either way...I hope that everyone's petitions get approved and/or forwarded in next week!!

yeah..it seems logical that they would work that way, but then again, this is our Federal government at work, so logic usually has nothing to do with it! :bonk::whistle:

That's weird...wonder if it's like one for them receiving and one for them sending? What day did they receive it, btw? Just trying to figure out how long I'm looking at before I get the notice. :)

Ok, so I have a question I am hoping someone can answer. To get Mark here we have to have a sponsor. We have two people who will do it, one as a back up in case the first one backs out. So I think we have that covered. What I need to know is how long from the time you get your NOA2 do you need to submit the I-134. The reason I am asking is one of our cosponsors that wants to help is in the process of selling their home and will be buying their new home soon. They are worried that for their home loan they would count Mark as someone she is supporting so she would want to make sure that she doesnt fill out the paperwork until AFTER she has gotten her homeloan that way it does not cause her problems and make her loan higher than it would be otherwise.

Thanks :) Any advice on this would be wonderful.

We received our NOA-1 Feb 19th, and no news yet.... what drives me crazy is sending my Petition from the Mid West all the way to Cali and then wait, wait, wait ...while it seems all around me are dates of people receiving NOA-2's. It makes me worry that something is wrong with mine, maybe I filed it incorrectly... I don't know... it's just hard. We get excited because the dates are bouncing all around us, and of course Vermont is going like gangbusters (which doesn't seem fair, but what is in life) and here we are still waiting... it's hard to get all pumped up, then slow back down and wait... you know? Good luck to all us Feb people,,, maybe someday we will hear the mailbox calling :innocent:
