I was waiting for the hard-copy from NVC before I updated my timeline, but the operator told me they received it on July 14, and had already forwarded it to the embassy in Manila. He gave me case number also, so we can pay our Document verification fees. I will be calling the embassy early next week to see if they have received it yet, and to set our interview date. I really have no idea how I got so lucky to get such a fast turn around. It was kind of nice though after having to wait for CSC to do something for so damn long.

Good for you! And I'm sure that you're not overly concerned about just why yours did move so fast! ;) It gives me hope that mine might get there (and quickly through there) any day. I've just been reading how some people have been waiting for more than a month for their files to get to the NVC from the CSC, and I'm hoping that's not the case for mine.

What is the "document verification fees" you've referred to? I was not aware of any more fees required in the K-1 process until the visa application fee at the interview.

The document verification fee is unique to the philippines. Its just another hand stuck out asking for money LOL

Ok...

Richard got a really nice lady on call.

But she told him stuffs like we understand but you have to wait it will come.

And as Richard told her that some peeps called them and get approved the same day, she told him that she's working on customers care only and if she try to talk with the adjudicators services there is a chance that our case will be expedite but there is another chance that our case will be put on the end of the line...

So...

We will wait.

Hi Miss Yoko!

It sucks they couldn't help you more over the phone. :(

I just wanted to say hi, and to send you happy thoughts, and to all the other ones waiting for an approval. (F)

Good luck! ......it will come. ;)(L)

Hi Pam.

Yep it sucks but what can we do...

So the lady told Richard also that its summer time and that maybe the adjudicator who have to work on our case is in vacation. So there is nothing to do beside waiting.

That wait kills me. I try to be fatalist, but its really not easy.

Kisses to you Pam

I think it's useless to call them because the person who answer the calls does not really know what's happening to your case. I think they are also looking on the case status online. If they really know the status of our case they should have told my fiance that our form was sent back to him as early as May (please read my previous posts for details). What sucks more is that they updated it only on July 17 and they did not even send email. Good thing I often check it online otherwise we would not have learn about it.

Sure I'll update you. I hope tomorrow we will have a good answer from them. Maybe I need to stay here longer. I initally plan to leave Phils by October but now I've decided that I'll probably leave Feb 09 so I could still get my bonus. Our company will give us two bonuses on January so it's ok. I pray hard that we won't be denied.

I guess different countries and embassies charge for differnt things. In Ukraine, we have to purchase a PIN number to call the embassy with any questions and to schedule the interview. The cost is 12.00 for approximately 8 minutes, so I guess when you call, you had better be to the point in a hurry! The only other costs are the 131.00 application fees, and they do have to be paid ahead of time at a bank specified by the embassy. Of course, my application costs are doubled since her daughter is coming, too! The, the AOS charge is doubled for the same reason! SIGH oh well, it is only money, right?

Woo-hoo!! Just called the NVC and they received my petition yesterday. The very nice lady said that they usually keep it about one week before sending it to the embassy, we all know that's usually shorter...so hopefully it will go out today or Monday. :)

Anyone else notice that if we get the wrong answer we always report that the person who answered the phone was snippy, annoyed, unhelpful, exasperated, etc...but when we get the answer we want the person was always nice, friendly, helpful, etc? :) I wonder how much of that is just that we're SO excited to hear what we wanted to hear. :D

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

Congrats on your file getting to the NVC, Andrea!!!

I just called again to check on mine, and they don't have it yet. Jon's petition was approved on July 8 and has already been received and sent out by the NVC. Yours was approved on July 11 and has already been received by the NVC. Mine was approved on July 9, and they don't have it yet. What's up with that? Another example of how things just don't add up!

I was thinking about you this morning and hoping that mine arriving meant that yours had arrived, too. :( I wonder if it has to do with how fast the adjudicators get them off their desks after approval. Like maybe some adjudicators pass them along immediately, but others keep them on their desk...or fill a box and only bring it to be shipped when the box is full. I dunno...I'm just theorizing, but it seems like that might be it.

It's good to see February filers continuing to be approved!

Miss Yoko, sending extra big ((hugs)) your way. I am sorry the lady was unable to give you any helpful answers. It'd be so nice if every time that barcode was scanned it gave us a meaningful update, just so people knew exactly what was happening to their petition!

That's as good of a theory as any, I suppose. Just from random observations, it seems that the K-1 petitions get from the VSC to NVC in a couple of days after approval, generally. And, the same petitions from the CSC seem to often take at least a week and sometimes 2, 3 or more weeks. Based on proximity to the NVC, it would be understandable for the petitions to take a day or two more, in general, to get to the NVC from the CSC, as compared from VSC to NVC. But, the reality seems to be that CSC is much worse at getting the petitions out after they've been approved. After waiting so long for the approval, it just sucks to see that they can't even get the approved petition sent on to the NVC! I will be so glad when my petition is finally out of USCIS hands and in DOS hands!!

By the way, the woman I spoke with today suggested that I wait until July 23 to call again and check. I don't think so!!!!
