Ya, there are so many things they could say, I have read a lot, but every situation is different and it seems like everything is up to the CO doing the interview. Its all up in God's hands now I believe. Thanks again for your quick reply!

Guess what...

WE ARE APPROVED!!!! Wow...I'm feeling verry happy right now. So yeah I got the email today saying that we were approved on July 16th. Now the next step starts.

CONGRATS!!!!! IT feels good doesn't it? I did the happy dance with my daughter when we found out  Start calling NVC in about a week, things go FAST now. Our papers are already on their way to the embassy :D

Jon,

So, the NVC has already received your file and sent it on to the Embassy? What were the dates for receipt and sending? (You haven't added these to your timeline yet.) I called the NVC again yesterday, and they still hadn't received my file. I was hoping for the kind of turn-around that you've apparently had.

Don,

I was waiting for the hard-copy from NVC before I updated my timeline, but the operator told me they received it on July 14, and had already forwarded it to the embassy in Manila. He gave me case number also, so we can pay our Document verification fees. I will be calling the embassy early next week to see if they have received it yet, and to set our interview date. I really have no idea how I got so lucky to get such a fast turn around. It was kind of nice though after having to wait for CSC to do something for so damn long.

Can anybody explain this please.......I checked our status online and this is what I found out

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: DOCUMENT OTHER THAN CARD OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT BEING HELD FOR 180 DAYS SINCE RETURNED AS UNDELIVERABLE

On May 30, 2008, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from May 30, 2008 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee.

I am so worried. Does it mean that our case is already denied? I have asked my fiance to call them up this morning. I am hoping that this is just a mistake.

What it is saying is that something happened with the mailing address. For some reason the address they have for you is not correct and it was returned to them by the post office. Starting on May 30, 2008 you have 180 days to call the office and give them an address that DOES work. As long as you call them and can give them a working address to send the paperwork to you, they will continue with your case. If you do NOT call them within the 180 days they will destroy your documents and you will have to start all over again. Right now, you need to call them and give them an address. Once you do that it should be ok. They will let you know if you need anything else. Just call the office and tell them what you saw on the website.

Good luck!

I'm thinking that maybe it's an RFE. They might have send back the forms so we can print it from the PC since all the forms were handwritten. I'm just wondering since most Feb Filers got approvals around 2nd week of June then how come they sent something to us as early as May.

In addition, when my fiance called them up last Monday he asked them about his address and they got his correct address and also he called up again last Wed and he was told that our case is still in the hands of adjudicator. He asked them as well if we have an RFE and they told him that they don't need anything at the moment.

I'm confused about it being on "hold" for this long.. almost 2 months? That's a waste :( I'm sorry that happened. Hopefully it's something silly and easy to fix if it is an RFE. That's what I saw in the website. It's really weird that they only updated it today. The last update in website is 7/17/08 and my fiance did not even receive any emails and what's on the website is different from what they told him when he called up them. I'm thinking that maybe this is a mistake or something. He will call them up again tomorrow to ask them about this.

Good for you! And I'm sure that you're not overly concerned about just why yours did move so fast! ;) It gives me hope that mine might get there (and quickly through there) any day. I've just been reading how some people have been waiting for more than a month for their files to get to the NVC from the CSC, and I'm hoping that's not the case for mine.

What is the "document verification fees" you've referred to? I was not aware of any more fees required in the K-1 process until the visa application fee at the interview.

Good luck!

Thanks, I just realized that as well but when I told my fiance about this he got hysterical but he will call them up tomorrow.

Well I can understand why he would be  the wording is awful! "DESTROYED" **Chills** Well. Just give them a call and all should be good :) Good luck with that. Do you know if maybe you have an RFE? I would definetly give them a call to make sure what they need.

As for all Feb filers! Looks like things are moooooving right along. Some march filers have even gotten approved, how fun! I'm a middle march filer and hoping to hear something soon. I notice I am become less and less patient :bonk:

Good luck to everybody!!!!

I'm thinking that maybe it's an RFE. They might have send back the forms so we can print it from the PC since all the forms were handwritten. I'm just wondering since most Feb Filers got approvals around 2nd week of June then how come they sent something to us as early as May.

Can i say something... when i read your original post, it says that they sent it May 30th... correct? So why is that you are NOW finding out about this. I'm confused about it being on "hold" for this long.. almost 2 months? That's a waste :( I'm sorry that happened. Hopefully it's something silly and easy to fix if it is an RFE. I don't think it matters if its handwritten or not... just as long as it's legible... .... your case was probably one of the first ones picked up..who knows..? Have you called them yet?

(F)

That's what I saw in the website. It's really weird that they only updated it today. The last update in website is 7/17/08 and my fiance did not even receive any emails and what's on the website is different from what they told him when he called up them. I'm thinking that maybe this is a mistake or something. He will call them up again tomorrow to ask them about this.

I don't want to entertain any negative thoughts at the moment. This is not the update that I wanted though but I'm positive that every thing will be fixed. I attended Christian service last night (after 4 months of hiatus) and it made me realized lots of things. I am lifting every thing to God. Maybe the update was just a test whether I will keep the faith or not but I surely will. I know God only wants to best for us so what ever the outcome of this process it will be the for the best for both of us.

I've been seeing those messages about people's taking that long to move...it makes me so nervous!!

I believe the document verification fees have to do with the Philippines embassy...there are extra fees involved there. However, all embassies have an interview fee that you will have to pay on/before the interview (depends on how the embassy accepts it...the Canadian embassies require that it be deposited into their bank account ahead of time). Check out the embassy reviews to find out what your fee is going to be and how they accept it! :)

We're probably going to be paying another $300-500 in fees before we have the visa in hand...between medical interview and the interview fee. It's ridiculous how expensive this process is!!

Thanks, it's funny because my fiance is the deep Christian here but he his the one who feels as though God does not want us to be together but I just tell him that every thing will work out and that this could still be resolved. Maybe they want to change something in the form that's why they sent it back. It only sucks because we learned it after almost 2 months.
