congratulations to all who got their NOA 2 today!! i have a question.... i haven't been "touched" (sounds awkward..heheheh) since Feb 22. Did anyone in these thread had an approval by mail but have not been touched???? I signed up with their email notification but still no email yet!!! i guess i still have to wait!!!!! geeesh!!!! I'm tired of waiting.. waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh :crying:

i think you shouldnt worry about those 'touches'..we've been approved without any single touch and nary an email notification so we were surprised when we found our NOA2 on the mailbox!!!we were approved july 9 but up until now the website says our case is still pending..so dont worry about the touches and the email updates coz its not reliable..goodluck!!!!

Which is precisely why I haven't told anyone at work (or any senior figures, at least) what my plans are - your work life can be made very uncomfortable if your bosses think you're going to dissapear.

My boss is my best friends boyfriend, and they took me because they know that I need something during the wait. They also went to dinner with Craig and me when he was here in May. We are a total of 9 people (when everyone shows up) at work!

Well then you and Miss Yoko are very fortunate in that aspect, because I sure as hell DON'T work for small company, and if they thought my departure was imminent, things would become extremely unpleasant. Suffice to say that I'd be "managed" out of the building.

congrats to all who have been recently approved. I hope I am one of those who do not show any touches, but suddenly the NOA2 arrives n the mail, or an email arrives! It is difficult waiting, especially since i had hoped to share my summer with my loved ones abroad. However, the only real "good thing' about this delay (the so called silver lining) is airfare to Ukraine is much cheaper in September! :jest:

Guess what...

WE ARE APPROVED!!!! Wow...I'm feeling verry happy right now. So yeah I got the email today saying that we were approved on July 16th. Now the next step starts.

CONGRATS!!!!! IT feels good doesn't it? I did the happy dance with my daughter when we found out  Start calling NVC in about a week, things go FAST now. Our papers are already on their way to the embassy :D

Jon,

So, the NVC has already received your file and sent it on to the Embassy? What were the dates for receipt and sending? (You haven't added these to your timeline yet.) I called the NVC again yesterday, and they still hadn't received my file. I was hoping for the kind of turn-around that you've apparently had.

I called NVC this morning at about 6:45am Mountain time and it only took about 5 tries, probably because no one is awake yet. ;) The lady was very polite, but sounded exasperated. She said that my petition hadn't been received yet...which didn't surprise me at all, I wasn't expecting it to be there...I just felt like I needed to DO something. I'm sure everyone knows what I mean.

I think that's where I got it...if not, I got it from the NVC website (I have it bookmarked at home).

Ok, so I called back and this time I talked to a very nice lady who said that my file is currenly with an officer and we should have our NOA2 within 30 days. Before my call to the USCIS there was no "touch" after my call it showed that my case was "touched" I am hoping that is a good sign.

Fingers crossed !!!

Ok...

Richard got a really nice lady on call.

But she told him stuffs like we understand but you have to wait it will come.

And as Richard told her that some peeps called them and get approved the same day, she told him that she's working on customers care only and if she try to talk with the adjudicators services there is a chance that our case will be expedite but there is another chance that our case will be put on the end of the line...

So...

We will wait.

Hey Guys!

Glad to see people are recieving their NAO2 approvals around the same time . I really feel like I have some people to relate to as far as a timeline. I just recieved my NAO2 approval via e-mail last night 7-16-2008. I am planning to make my trip to Juarez,Mexico, HOPEFULLY with no out of the ordinary paperwork delays, the last week in August (they have open appointments). I am pregnant and the baby is due September 24, 2008 so I am a little scared to go anytime after that for fear the baby will come early....haha. I am lucky to enough to live in Phoenix, Arizona so I can drive to El Paso,Texas, not having to fly. I just had a couple questions maybe you guys can help.

1. I haven't sent in the I-134 form for Affidavit of Support form yet anytime during this process. Is this something the NVC will request for? Or do I just bring it to Juarez when I go, to give to my fiancee?

2. Are any of you dealing with possibly having to apply for any type of waiver? My fiancee unfortuntely EWI to the US twice once, when he was 17, but only stayed for less then 5 months. Then again that same year, this time 18, but only stayed less then a month in the US. He has not been back since. I believe he is not inadmissable for overstaying in the US. BUT, always a but, he tried to EWI 3 times in June 2007 to be with me. He got caught everytime. He believes they were just catch and releases becasue he was never asked to sign anything. He did get fingerprinted though. So don't really know what happened.......

Also, when he was here the first time, 3 weeks after turing 18, he was arrested for possesing a fake SS card and green card (all numbers used on them were fake, not of an actual persons). He never presented himself as the fake people on the cards, while Tony was being searched they found them in his wallet. November 1999. He was charged with a class 4 felony for forgery, but never resolved his ticket. Now it says that the case (I have a certified copy to take with me to Juarez) is satisfied with the courts. There are no pending charges against him. I am not sure what they will say. I know they are pretty easy on certain types of tickets, but that type I am not sure....I thought it was stupid he was even charged in the first place because so many people use those cards to work. That is why he said he had bought them in the first place. Any suggestions or comments? Do you think he will have to get a waiver? If so, what type? I don't if I should start preparing a HSL for a waiver or just a letter explaing the situation of the incidence and his apologies? I don't know. Anything anyone has to say will be much appreciated!! Thank you again!

Hey :) Congrats on your baby!!

The I-134 is required for the interview at the embassy. Your fiance should be receiving packet 3 from the embassy in the next month or so. Check out your embassy under the "embassy info" and "Guides" linksabove to find out what exactly to expect from this point out. They are fantastic resources.

The other stuff about over-staying and being caught with fake SS cards I can't answer to, but I suspect it will probably come up. Check out the regional forum for your area and ask people what they think, each embassy deals with things differently. He might have a lot of trouble because of those things and you might have to apply for a waiver, but you might not. The only thing you can do is wait for the interview and see what the officer says. The biggest thing at this point is to be polite no matter what they say! If they tell you know and he tries to sneak across the border they can, and probably will, issue a lifetime ban and he won't even be able to visit. If the officer rejects the petition and you are polite and follow all of the correct policies you can appeal it...if you are rude and try to break the rules, you'll be out of luck.

I wish I had a better answer for you and I wish you all the best!
