It happens when people create their timeline after the fact. Like if someone filed in February, but only now found VJ...they create their timeline, so it adds more data to Igor's list.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

Igor's List is nice, and I think it's a good gauge of what's going on. But, there are some inherent "weaknesses". As another VJer calculated, the number of K-1 petitions sent to the CSC which are on Igor's List represents approx. 5% of the total actually filed at the CSC (don't know her source data, but it seems like a reasonable extrapolation). On Igor's List, VJers are listed in order of the date they sent the petitions. A more accurate comparison would be the date the petition is actually received by the CSC (NOA1 date). But, even that data isn't consistenly entered in the timelines. I know that at least some VJers enter the date that they actually receive the NOA1 and not the date on the NOA1. So, you have to consider that when looking at NOA1 dates on VJ timelines. And yes, I'm sure that I'm not pointing out anything that you probably haven't recognized on your own.

All that being said, I think it's still a good indicator. The recently approved petition with a 1/29/08 NOA1 looks like it probably does reflect the actual CSC received date (it was sent on 1/24/08), and that tells me the CSC must be real close to getting K-1 petitions received in February on adjudicators' desks if some are not already there! And that gives me reason to hope!! :)

Best of luck to all of us Feb filers!!!

This is the worst process I've ever witnessed. This has been a huge emotional and physical drain on me. I've literally lost 30lbs in the past 4 months, over all the stress. I'm really finding it hard to get excited at this point, and I'm an early feb filer. I haven't even broken 100 on Igors list yet. Sorry for being a downer, but this has really taken a toll on me.

Ok... can someone explain exactly what Igors list is? I thought it was just someone who is on this website putting together a list of people who put in time lines.... guess not... And how do you get on the list?

also....

About the weight loss... you have no idea how many people would trade places with you... sadly some of us gain when we are stressed rather than lose.. :(

That is exactly what Igor's list is. Although I believe there is a program now that has been written that automatically updates it whenever there is a timeline update.
