Julia how did it go!?!?!?!

I passed, just got back 25 minutes ago, and already emailed the embassy. My Medical Report wasn't there yet, and I had it done over 4 weeks ago. They told me to call the doc and that they will get in touch with him as well. So I called the doc right after calling Craig, and they told me that they had send it out weeks ago. But the most important thing I passed!

Left at 3.45am, got there at 6.30am (after we turned wrong once), was 5th in my line, but first for a K Visa. Got out at 9am. On the way home we made a few more wrong turnes and got home at 12.30pm, 488.?? kilometers later. My Mom drove with me, since I was so nervous. They talked all the time in German with me, and they just looked at me a little bit weird because my hands were a little bit shaking when they took my fingerprints.

So now I will book my Moms flight for the wedding first, and check out some more flights for me (don't wanna book any before I get an answer from Frankfurt). :star:

They won't be able to do that, since it takes a day or two to get the result I think, but she will get the xray and she should ask the Doc to give her the form DS 3025 (Vaccination Documentation Worksheet)!!! They mailed it to me, after I asked, you will need it for AOS. Nothing special in Frnakfurt, wait in the Non-Immigration line, sit in the yellow area (window 16-23). They were all so nice, and so helpful. Didn't ask for any proof of ongoing relationship, took copy of birth certific, copy and original of I-134+some of the W2 and the other papers to support it, and the original police certific. Stamps and a pen is good to have as well, and 1 more 5x5 passport pic. Like I said (I think I did) I was first, and was done and out at 9am. There were a total of 8 people going for K1 Interview that early.

A delightful update! Dennis and I just got back to our hotel from our interview. We were at the embassy for almost four hours..and it was worth every minute. We were called up to hand in our paperwork and the lady who took it was VERY impressed with our organization (yay VJ!), then sat back down. Then Dennis was called up for his fingerprints and we were told to sit and wait for our interview. While waiting we heard the two couples in front of us have their interviews, one had been denied for a tourist visa last year because the officers didn't believe she would come back at that time. They were finally approved after a pretty in depth interview. The other couple asked specifically when they could pick up their visa and were told that it was impossible to do them same day, because the information has to go back to Washington and they were already closed there. Both couples were called up, told to sit back down, then called up for additional interviewing

They called Dennis up (I was allowed to go with him) and spent less than five minutes with the interviewer. She asked how we'd met, what type of wedding we were planning on having, and what we each did for work. Then she said those magical five words "I'm satisfied with your relationship." She sent us over to the first window to get instructions. The lady there said that the consulate will be closed tomorrow! :( Normally you can pick up your visa the next day at Vancouver...we were a bit panicking then because we have plane tickets to fly back home tomorrow night! The lady told us to sit down and she would try to print the visa right then and there for us. :) We sat for another hour or so and she called us up and gave us the sealed packet and returned Dennis' passport! Apparently we REALLY impressed her, since they had just told someone else it was impossible to do, but made an exception for us! :)

Thank you all for the well wishes and the support through this process, it's taken SO long, but finally we'll be heading home together! We leave Canada on Friday and are going to drive back to Salt Lake. I hope everyone who is still waiting gets their good news soon!

Congrats Dennis and Andrea. You both have been such a great source of strength, comfort and good advice. Its so lovely to hear you were approved, and so nice in particular for me because I was approved for our K1 within 24 hours of yours....its so nice to have been on the journey with you!!!

Congratulations to everyone who had good news while I was gone! Dennis and I crossed the border at Emerson/Pembina (North Dakota). We got a guy who was doing his first K1 visa, but he was really friendly and we worked through it together. I'm glad that I had VJ because he tried to give us the original packet back! I was like "I don't think we're supposed to get that back..." he went to check with a more experienced officer then came back and told us we were right and he was supposed to keep it. :) Took about an hour, then they let us through. We drove the 23-ish hours back to Salt Lake, across North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, then Utah. Not much to see in ND or MT except cows and fields! :) We got home yesterday afternoon. It's so wonderful to finally have him at home. We'll get married on Thursday and then it's on to AOS/EAD/AP. :D

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.
