permanent resident card - confused

Today I got my permanent resident card which is valid for 2 years. But I never had to go to an interview (just fingerprints and pictures were taken some months ago). Can I travel with this card outside the US and reenter again?!?

That happened to us also, many who adjust from a K-Visa get approved without an interview.

Yes the card is valid for re-entry from a trip abroad, as well as work authorization.

YES :yes: it should say I-551 on it.

Dont forget to file I-751 2 years fro now to remove the conditions and get permanent 10 year card.

i got approved without an interview either, happens a lot lately! your case was probably transfered to csc right?

and yes this is your "green" card and you can travel and work with it so you dont have to renew ap or ead anymore!

YES!!! You can use it for travel and work. We were also approved without an interview. :thumbs: And yes it is your green card!!! Now you can take a break for a little under 2 years!! :) Then you will have to remove conditions...

March 6, 2007 - I-129F package sent

March 21, 2007 - I-129F NOA2

October 17, 2007 - K1 interview - approved

October 19, 2007 - K1 arrived in mail

October 21, 2007 - US entry

October 23, 2007 - Wedding day

November 27, 2007 - AOS, EAD, AP package sent

December 7, 2007 - Received all 3 NOA's for AOS, AP & EAD

December 10, 2007 - Received letter for biometrics appointment

January 2, 2008 - I-485 transferred to California

January 3, 2008 - Biometrics

January 16, 2008 - RFE for I-485

January 22, 2008 - RFE for I-485 arrived

January 23, 2008 - AP approved

January 25, 2008 - Case status finally updated: AP approved January 23!

January 31, 2008 - EAD card production ordered

Don't forget to schedule a visit to the SSA office and request that your SS card be replaced with one that does not have the "Work with DHS Authorization" on it.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

hmm... interesting notice :blush: but can we go to SSA office after EAD arrival and change it prior green card arrives or we need to wait for green card :)

EAD alone does not qualify for elimination of the "authorization" language from the card... Only the GC will accomplish this...
