Affadavit of Support, Forms and Timeline

Hello,

I'm a British citizen engaged to an American. I plan to move there upon under the K-1 fiance visa. We've sent the I-129 and are awaiting a reply (still...). While reviewing what's needed for the next step, the affadavit of support, I took a look at the National US Visa Centre website, and got confused.

It offers a list of the forms needed for the financial information to prove I won't become a burden, and reads thus:

o I-864W - Intending Immigrant's Affidavit of Support Exemption

o I-864EZ - Affidavit of Support

o I-864 - Affidavit of Support

o I-864A - Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member

o I-864P - 2008 Poverty Guidelines

Important Note: Form I-134 is not acceptable, and cannot be used in place of the appropriate I-864 form(s) listed above.

Now, form I-134 is relatively short and is the one I thought needed sending, however, as you can see above, it states that is not acceptable.

So, my questions are:

1. Which of the forms needs to be filled out by my fiance (i.e. what is the exact name and number of the form?)

2. Unfortunately, my fiance likely does not possess sufficient finances to support me, and her dad has agreed to act in that capacity. Does my fiance need to fill in a form or cover letter explainging that? Does her dad fill in the same form as she would? Which form?

As I understand it, only when USCIS replies do we do these things, which gives us some leeway. What supporting information is necessary i.e. W2's, tax information, etc?

I'm sorry to post this in a forum when the answers may on the site already, but the National Visa Centre directly contradicts at least one thing I've found on this site, or seems to, to me.

Any held would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jack F.

The I-134 is the form used in conjunction with the K1 visa. The US embassy in London will send you a checklist which instructs you to have your sponsor complete that form.

Both your fiancee and her father will need to complete a I-134.

Then can order tax transcripts from the IRS as supporting documents. They are free.

Ok, thanks alot for that for that. I just stumbled upon conflicting information and sort of panicked, hence my terse tone. Basically, I don't need to worry about which form is needed because they'll (the London Embassy, in this case) send me a checklist telling me which forms need to be filled in. I then send copies of the I-134 to my fiance and her dad, they send them back and I take them with me to the final interview? Is that about right?

Then where do the forms listed in my first post fit in?

Jack
