Depends purely and solely on the intention of the chatter, and since they haven't invented a machine to see a person's feelings or intentions, communication and trust is requiered ;) . If I'd felt uncomfortable with anything, I'd let my husband know and let him explain the situation. You have to be honest and trust your spouse

Saludos,

Caro

oh if my husband could only have that machine

Accept or not there are some aspects of our culture that is too open.

And some things that are acceptable to us here are never even heard of in other cultures.

I don't agree with someone being so overbearing and suspicious, believe me it breaks a relationship down, BUT there are some grey areas between men and women, which can be miscontrued and breed jealousy.

I tell you what, unless it was a mutual friend or some girl he grew up with back home I wouldn't feel very comfortable with him conversing and/or spending private time a woman.

Now that I am older I can see the meaning of the word respectful. To your SO feelings and to the relationship.

What about your husband respecting you and trusting you?

Sorry but I don't buy that there can't be a platonic relationship with opposit sex.

Dictating your friendships is manipulative.

One really can choose to be honorable and monogamous without being told that one can't have friendships with those of the opposite sex. To my mind, to deny access to normal social relationships (and friendships are perfectly normal) is to suggest that the human is incapable of controlling primal animal urges. What kind of total bullshit is that? It's the kind of bullshit that allows men to abuse women and then blame the woman for 'tempting' the man. That is the pinnacle of immaturity.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I have male friends and chat with them. I guess Bren should slap me around, tie me to a post in the middle of the woods and leave me there to die.

someone would rescue you ...

True. If you want a boyfriend or girlfriend, don't get the immature type.

Advise:

1. dump them immediately if they are obsessive with you seeing their friend

2. once engage, prioritize...you know you will not have same tight relationship anymore with your friends...so make sure not only you are aware of it, they must as well...but that doesn't make you exclusively to only your fiance

3. once you're married...know what is expected between you and your wife...use common sense

I do find it funny that once they're married, they still don't understand what commitment involves. They still would spend time with their friends at the bars and clubs. When the husband or wife comes home from work tired and can't find the spouse because the spouse was mingling with her old friends communication becomes a problem.

When the spouse arrive you'd get something along the lines..."i went out with a couple friends having a good time"...The husband/wife who just got out of work may not get mad, but, is a little upset that his/her plans to spend the night out with the spouse. Maybe some unplanning with going out to nice restaurant, or a walk in the park. Nope. The spouse gets drunk and tired.

There a so many levels that commitment needs in order for things to work out in marriage. Some couple don't even reach those levels, and they marry. Especially the young 18 and 19 years old high school sweethearts.

Well, that is what I see. Don't know if it's true.

It's not really what you do, so much as your ability to communicate and your intentions. If you and your spouse understand each other, you are good to go. If not, well your relationship will be hard work to say the least.
