Photos of us both - do dates matter?

Hi,

My fiance and I are in the "gather evidence that we met" stage. My fiance labelled the photographs of us as a couple last night to put in our bundle of proof. He put the names of the people in the photos, location and attempted the dates. We know they were all taken in June and July 05 but we cannot remember specific dates for 2 of these photos. Would you think it's ok just to put June/July 05?

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything

Absolutely.

When I did my K-1 packet, I put TODAYS date (well, the date I actually signed the pictures and sent in the K-1 packet) on the reverse side. I put that date, signed, and sent. No problems.

I didn't actually put the date the photos were taken, although we did have some photos where we were standing in front of billboards with dates on them.

JUST A TIP TO ALL FUTURE K-1 APPLICANTS.... if possible, when you meet your fiance, snap a couple of photos in front of billboards with concert dates or movie premiers or something else that can be verified by USCIS. Makes for easy ID of date. Or, you could always do the "proof of life" and hold up a newspaper like you see in all the hostage movies!

(While in Moscow, to get "proof picutures" my fiancee is standing in front of a Marilyn Manson billboard for the Moscow concert. That's not a forgettable event in Moscow. (Or anywhere else for that matter! Damn crazy teenage rock-n-roll!!!) We also had a couple of photos snapped in front of one of the theaters a couple blocks down from the embassy and all the shows were up on huge posters with dates on them. The embassy workers probably drive by this theater often, so there should be no question about the authenticity of it. We did all this on ACCIDENT!!!, but later we realized it was a very good one to make!)

Thank you slim! We weren't aware we were suppost to send evidence on applying in the first place so we got a RFE! So we're doing our best to scrap everything together.

Totally true about concerts! We have one picture of us at a Eddie Money showing in Stockton California. Although our faces aren't in it but the back of our chairs and heads! But there's a security gaurd in it so LOL  Plus some pictures of us at the county fair, professional portrait, cruise picture which was part of the package we payed for which we didn't know we'd be having our picture taking! Plus we have some with my parents at the hotel so that'll go along with the hotel receipts we've gathered.

Wish us luck. VJ is very helpful!

All of those photos are awesome for evidence! Send 'em!

Also, check out the guide here on VJ, there is a good checklist of what to send with K-1 packet. A little too late now I guess since you got the RFE. Don't sweat it too much though, I got an RFE. Corrected the mistake, sent it in and got NOA II about a week later. Just make sure you send EXACTLY what they are requesting. If that's a generic "evidence" then the photos you were describing, along with boarding passes for your cruise and plane tickets etc. would be perfect evidence. I really didn't send too much, boarding passes/plane tickets, and about 16 photos. No problem!

Good luck!

Actually, this is a common misconception concerning "evidence". Photos are what's considered " secondary evidence". What that means is that they can be used to reinforce more substantial "primary evidence"; evidence that is irrefutable and is primarily documentary in form.

Example of primary evidence would be spent airline tickets (boarding passes), hotel receipts, bank records showing checks cashed, ATM withdrawals, or CC charges, and of course entry/exit stamps in ones passport, in the place and the time that's asserted to be the time that both of you met within the last two years.

It's very difficult to fake airline information, especially these days given the security checks but it's very easy to fake, or assert a photo to have been taken in the last two years.

Try to concentrate on documents that prove your assertion that a meeting took place when you said it did. Use documents that can prove so. Supplement that evidence with one, or two photos.
