Hi.

Does anyone have UK marriage visa experience? I'm wondering if I could enter the UK as a tourist, get married, THEN apply for a marriage visa afterwards from the UK? Or do I need to return to the US? I know the fiance visa costs 500 pounds, whihc is expensive, considering I cannot work on it.

Thanks. I'm trying to get back with him ASAP, however I can!

You cannot marry as a tourist in the UK. They simply will not do it, unlike the US. You MUST enter on the fiance visa to get married, which can then be switched to a spousal visa for an additional fee.

Great, thanks for the info! I'm clueless.

But on the UK work permit site is says:

'If you have a visa valid for six months or less in the UK you cannot change status to a spouse visa. '

Doesn't that mean a fiance visa cannot be changed? How long does a fiance visa take to get?

http://www.britainusa.com/visas/articles_s...nt1.asp?a=41054 Costs $494 and is much much quicker than doing it from the UK to the USA. You can apply to work after you marry.

Good Luck

Devilette, you've got 3 threads going at the moment trying to figure out the fastest way for the two of you to be together.

First of all, welcome to our little site! Truly.

I think you need to SLOW DOWN and read carefully. You may be overwhelming yourself with too much infromation too quickly.

That being said.....I think you will find, once you research your options, that if YOUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO LIVE IN THE STATES and SPENT THE LEAST AMOUNT OF TIME APART, K-1 is probably the fastest.
