Procrastination is my sin . . .

It brings me endless sorrow;

I really must stop doing it . . .

In fact, I'll start tomorrow!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

So, my husband and I are sqabbing about his procrastination addicition. I have been asking him (or reminding him) to send me a pdf of his birth certificate that he got from the Chilean Enbassy about 2 months ago. I wanted to see it and try to determine if it needed a translation... Anyway, I still don't have a copy so we got into it (you all know how it goes)

Me: Are you ever going to email me that birth certificate?

Him: What's the big deal?

Me: I still think we need it translated.

Him: Thought you told me the U.S. doesn't need translations from Spanish?

Me: That was for the W-7 for your tax ID number, which I never sent in because I never got your certified copy of your passport... So, think you can exert a bit more effort and send me the bc?

Him: I am tired of you telling me what to do. You sent me to get my criminal check and it's probably going to expire before I even need it!

Me: Fine, whatever. It's all on you then. You can wait for them to ask you for your docs and then go chasing around for them. After I file the income thingy, I am done. Do what ya like.

And so there it sits. I sent him an email 3-4 months ago with a list of things he needed to do and I even prioritized it for him with listing the things that I thought would take the longest to get done first. On that list were:

1. Get your Canadian PR card (yes, he did do this but only after CIC told him that they would not allow him back in to Canada without it)

2. File for Canadian citizenship (not done)

3. Get birth certificate and translation (half done)

4. Get shots updated (I sent him the list, and not done)

5. Get police record (done)

It is actually kind of nice. My 864 is all but done just waiting out until I get a NOA-2 before I ask for a letter of employment so it is fairly current. I can relax. But, I withdraw my offer for him to come live in the U.S. when his case is winding down until he has completed the Canadian immigration. So there!

Now I feel better.
