Waiting on the Packet 3 from Montreal is almost as nerve-wracking as the NOA2 :)

I've sent her all my documents and she's got everything in order except her medical in Halifax and her passport photos (5 right?).

Here's to hoping it comes this week and she can send it back right away.

Hi Justin-- :)

Well, I bet you get it soon. I don't know much about Montreal or how long they take, but probably it won't be 111 days like your timeline says NOA2 was. Yeah, this whole process is wait, wait, and wait some more. But each wait is shorter. I was so anxious waiting for the courier to bring the passport and visa. It took 7 days. Geez, I must have used up all my patience during the NOA2 black hole of waiting. What's 7 days??? I think the closer you get, you think it should be faster.

I suppose your packet 3 will say how many photos or maybe a Montreal Embassy website. Google "US Embassy Montreal". London says 3 photos, but actually two are for the interview and the 3rd is for the medical people to stick on the medical report. Something I've never seen posted before that we realized in London is they take one of the photos and put it under a little camera thing and take a digital picture of the photo. Then the visa is a printout that has the photo printed on it. It's a whole passport page in size and looks a little like the photo/name page in a passport. It was glued on covering a whole page. It's kind of a blurry inkjet looking print out. Not that great of resolution. Canada may have a better printer LOL.

Good luck with everything. It won't be long. Yeah, right! Anything is too long, huh?

Yeah, we are just going about our business keeping an eye on the steps to follow. Believe it or not, I've used that flowchart

as a printout and by marking off the steps, it helps put the whole thing into perspective.

Hello ladies!

Just had dinner with my baby out on the deck. Finally we are having a cool summer night so we can sit outside.

We are both into home cooking and i just love doing that with him. I wish we could do it more often.

We spent the weekend up in Baltimore and had a cook out with all his family. We had crabs again! it was really nice and now i really feel more comfortable with them. and them with me. I know it will be all good!

going to watch gymnastics tonight! hope my Romanian fellows do good ;)

Gosh BEX.... i really can not think of what i like here more than being with Lee. but i promise i will sleep on it and give an answer tomorrow!

I too have melt down moments.... Last night we were in the car. Lee driving...and just heard a song on the radio...i think it is Faith Hill...something about daddy's girl and i started crying so bad...

ANA thank God you are ok...That is the most important thing! I hate speed motorcycles too... I really hope you won't end up paying for everything.

We are keeping fingers crossed for KIM!!!

About the friend problem i was telling you about last week...it really doesn't feel that bad now... I still haven't seen her yet and i am actually planning to give her a call tomorrow.

NICH hope your wait for Nick's arival won't seem too long...remember you are on the other side of the fence already ;)

Hi alina! Well i'm sure you heard by now that we've received our NoA2! :) I even got the hardcopy yesterday and mailed off everything Russell will need for me for his interview. His medical is already scheduled for this Friday and he's already contacted the Embassy to try to get an expedited interview. Hopefully it wont be long before we are together again! Thanks for thinking of us. :)

I'm so glad things are going well for you! And happy you're not carrying around pain caused by your 'friend'.

i'm also very curious about Tuty and hope she posts soon!

Yes! We were approved last Wednesday! (8/13) I did post a topic but it's lost in the VJ abyss by now on page... who knows.

anyway, he has his medical this Friday and has requested an expedited interview date (something NZ does try to accomodate ;) ) so hopefully it wont be too long. Everything he needs from me for the interview is already on it's way to NZ! We're on our way!!!

good luck at the medical sweetheart and do keep us posted. Fingers crossed for Tuesday!!! Have fun with those cool old ladies... must be fun! :)

Ahhhhhh Kim congratulations!!!!! Kelly told me the good news yesterday when as we were having our weekly "i miss this about home but love this about America phone call"

Ana - Good to hear that your doing well and as of yesterday still alive in Rio. Be safe and don't get yourself into anymore trouble! I hope everything goes well and am sending you some good vibes.

It is awful quiet around here isn't it. I'm one of the worst culprits, I keep telling myself I'm bored sitting at home all day but then I fail to find time to get anything done. Its been a bit of a stress getting all the wedding planning to come together, although almost everything is sorted now and we are starting to get RSVP's through which is reassuring. Its my bridal shower Saturday :) and last Saturday was my birthday so I'm enjoying having everyone run around and make a fuss of me. Once we are in the apartment I will be on here a lot more as I'm enrolling in an online course and wont have to treck down to the basement to use the computer. In the meantime I hope all my friends know i still love them lots and am sending them all good vibes which ever part of the process they are stuck in.

Not that its a long time, but 2 weeks went by and no Packet 3. However, this is because after emailing Montreal...the packet had been sent out

almost 2.5 weeks ago. So, they are sending another one out today. That bugs me that we could have been waiting those 2 weeks on the interview

list, not this way.

Hi everybody. Yes, this is the sad little thread that everybody has abandoned. Well, it's nice in a way because everybody has moved ahead in the process. Most are approved, some have moved, some are planning interviews soon. It's actually pretty exciting. I've been around long enough that I've picked up on some commonalities among the month-of-filing threads. See if you don't agree---

The group that's about a month from being approved: All are whining, checking USCIS obsessively, hating their service center.

The group that's getting NOA2s right now: Lots of congrats and good lucks, and panic because they have no clue what to do next. They should have been getting the next set of documents ready all that time they were stressing over the wait.

The group that had NOA2s over a month ago: Everybody drops out because they have to do their thing for the interview, moving, wedding, etc.

But it's nice to find somebody has dropped in on our former whining, then dancing thread to keep in touch.

I'm home from my last visit to the UK for awhile. We still talk on the phone 3-4 times a day. (Thanks Vonage!) Nick is doing a little bit of organizing and throwing out, but still is working so can't get it done but in bits and pieces. And there's several things he said he would do for a friend, his former boss and his mum. So he's got a lot on his plate right now. He's holding up well considering there's so much to do and not that much time.

I've seen my daughters twice in the last week. The youngest one moved into her new house and we've been looking at furniture. I've been hanging out with my friends and generally wasting time. And I've watched some of the Olympic coverage. We still don't have a plan for a wedding. I've downloaded and started looking at AOS documents. I need to start filling those out and reading the AOS forum to get up to speed, so as soon as we are married, we can send the paperwork off asap. Maybe we'll join up again someday in an AOS thread. LOL. That will be fun.

I'm really excited how all of you are moving along and taking care of business. I know you're still in another waiting mode Justin, but at least you're checking on it and not letting too much time get away from you. And Ana is just waiting around for that interview. And Bex is the pampered princess of Georgia getting all that attention. Happy Birthday. You have to send me a picture of your wedding. I want to see you! Go to the basement more often and report on every detail of the wedding plans. I love wedding plans...except my own. LOL. When is Alina's wedding? I forgot. Report in again lovely.

Bye for now everybody. Enjoy your day. :)

Hi,

I Just wanted to say thanks to you all. I know I didn't write much (that is just how I am) but I have appreciated all of the good advice and following the progress of others in the same boat.

I arrived at JFK on Sunday 17th August and got married on Tuesday 19th. Everything went exactly to plan and I cant believe how lucky I have been. Even the weather was perfect!

At least I will be with Crissy for the next part of the visa journey.

I wish the rest of you the best of luck for the future.
