Really wishing you the best for tomorrow, Bex! I hope everything goes smoothly, and you can join Alan as soon as possible.

Michael is coming here on July 23, so he will be able to spend his birthday (July 25) with me. I am hoarding my vacation days to use right before my departure, so I told him to come here instead. I was also nervous about being turned away at the POE, and really didn't want to risk losing a hefty sum of money (airfares from the US to Rome for this time of year average € 1,000). So, we'll have a couple of weeks together, hoping this will be the last time we have to say goodbye.

Unfortunately, even if we were approved soon (which at this point I doubt), there will be some time to wait for the interview at the Naples consulate. August is a very slow month in Italy, and they are said to take things easy (even if they are reportedly anything but difficult at the interview). I just hope I'll be able to be there before Xmas... I had anticipated a shorter wait, but those two lost months at the beginning really did us in.

Thanx Raffaella, I have checked that everything is in order a million times; it all looks good to me. It's all in London’s hands really, nothing much more Alan and I can do. Not getting the visa will be a massive blow but we love each other and we won't let anyone stand in the way of that.

It's lovely to hear you talking about your journey with a little more optimism today. I hope you are feeling a little bit better

I Just feel like giving up n crawling under a rock somewhere :(

Come on Pandora, you can't throw in the towel so easily. You can work through this. You said he makes enough $$ now, but not on his last tax return. Did they see a letter from his employer, pay stubs, bank letter or statement? Did you argue with them or ask some higher official to have a look at your documentation? You sometimes have to fight (in a polite way) to get what you're after. As for the parents...they are old enough and wise enough to ask questions before they jump into anything. And it doesn't mean they have to give you anything or support you except as a safety net. Your fiance will support you and you will find work in a few months. You aren't really asking for a handout from them, just a piece of paper to get you past the embassy, so don't let your pride of self-support keep you from trying to get that K1. Have you met the parents? Do they have a close relationship with their son? Do you feel like they are okay with the relationship or do they think it's too soon for their son to marry? There's so many things that would make them want to ask questions and know more before signing a legal document and turning over their personal financial records to somebody. Give them a little time to work it out in their heads. Bex had a lot of good points about people fearing the internet.

You can do this, but you have to get out from under the hiding rock and fight for it. I know you're feeling really down and disappointed right now and I don't blame you. But I know you can pick yourself up and fix this. It's not a lost cause yet by any means. JUST DO IT!!!

(Hey
Bex
, am I a silver surfer??? hahahaha...I never thought of that but I could be your Gran. Well, I don't get on the internet and forward dumb jokes to everybody in my address book, so I won't claim to be a silver surfer. God, I hate that so much.)

Just for curiosity's sake... What about those people who are ahead of us in Igor's list? Do we know for sure if they are still waiting for NOAs, or if they just have dropped off the radar? We are now # 39 on the list, but it seems there are still a number of February filers waiting, not to mention March filers.

I am #19 and still very active, also I can see at least 3 before me also active. But the list is by no means 100% accurate as to when you will be up next. But if you take a look at the spots where people are dropping off the list, I.E. people currently at about #35, then take the number of people between you and #35 multiply by 0.8 (20% dirty data) and then divide by the average NOA2's per day , you can get a fair estimate of when your turn will be.

Raffaella, how wonderful your love is coming for a visit. We were contemplating a trip in June for me to NZ but it's just so expensive and such a production managing my life to fly to the other side of the world for a couple weeks. Of course, we didn't think we'd be stuck in limbo so long either. I'm sure it would have done us wonders. I hope it does for you. :)

Bex, good luck sweetheart! I'm sure it will be just great! Can't wait to hear.

Pandora, how are you feeling today? I do hope that it's stronger and more willing to do what it's going to take. Listen to the advice you're getting hon. I know it's a difficult time but in every difficulty lies opportunity. ;) Giving up is just not an option.

Nice to see you Sally! Almost time to fly home! :)

Good morning Alexandra

Hello ronjie... i'm sure it's soon for you too!

Always such great advice mama nich! ;) So glad to know you're not a fwd queen!

Well I was hoping to see a bunch more late March / early April filers approved this morning. I sure wish we had some to keep us going each day.
