Morning Guys.

Thanks for your advice so far, I read Alan what you guys have said and what I said back and he told me that he knows how much I am comprimising and that he is willing to comprimise on this. HOWEVER as we have talked about it so much I know thats not what he wants so we are still going to do it his way...how could we do it any other way when he has been so set on what he wants? He has the next 50 years at least to make it up to me I guess.

Nick I like your wedding plans, they are similar to mine. I'm dreading doing all the name change stuff, I am looking forward to everyone knowing that I am Mrs Dennis though. Plus if I don't change my name, I wont have a maiden name and then my kids will never have a password for anything

Ana your approval is coming this week with Aleenas. We need a party in here :dancing:

Hope everyone is well, its pouring with rain here :( I'm just waiting for all the reports of leaks and floods to start rolling.

Hi Bex !1 thanks I hope so I get my NOA2 with Alena this week hahah

And about your wedding party you should take that is a good oportunity to show all Alan's friends how much you love him and get close to them.. I know is hard because you don't know evebody and is a special day, but from this day on his friends are also going to be your friends... and besides that that is your special day you are going to be the one that evebody is going to say: "Hey Alan's wedding is today wonder how is the british bride look like..." and you show up there beautiful and happy. You know just get the chance to let evebody know you =)

That is how I think because al Jeff's friends , when we started dating in US and he was like ok I am going to bring my brazilian girlfriend and evebody was probably thinking about those woman that shows up on TV at Rio de JAneiro Carnival and I really don't look like those hahah I look liek a latin girl but not those that people show around the world. Which really piss me off. Because all what people think is that brazillians girls are b**** that show their butt and dance like crazy...but anyway I showed up hahaha all diferent and they were like "well she is pretty ... and diferent from what I expected" .... so just go there and let evebody know you just the way you are!

=)

Me and Jeff we decided that we are only going to do a little dinner for the civil cerimony and save the money to start getting our place and later we will make a little Beach wedding here in fortaleza... we have the best beachs in the Brazil... so I want something really simple and pretty just my best friends and family

This picture is one I took the weekend before I went to the US is a totally paradise one nobody goes there and a friend of mine has a house there, I went alone with my aunt we were doing a kind of thinking and medidating weekend and is awesome... you just lay on the sand and feel the sun getting on your face, good and warm water and all of the sundelly come those boats with the fishmen from the local comunity bring fresh fish... just awesome .hhaha not just becaus eI love my place but there are alot better palces in BRazil than Rio de Janeiro ...

anyway if I start talking about my city I will take all the topic just typing and typing...

good luck evebody and I hope evebody have a good day and Iam sorry about my english mistakes hahaha I am still on a long learning process...

 Medical is done! One more thing to tick off the list.

He said it went smoothly and was much like the other reports of the Bentinck Mansion location in London. The only hitch was the immunizations. He had gone to the doctor to get that done ahead of time and the record to take. They told him at the medical today that in February of this year, the US had added the DTP shot =Diptheria, Tetnus, Pertussis (whooping cough) to the requirements. He might have said DTaP. Apparently, it is the whooping cough the US is concerned about. He doesn't have to have the shots until he adjusts status, but the nurse said it will make things go faster if he finishes up. They could give the shot at the medical for 25 pounds, but he decided to get it done at National Health for maybe free. She gave him a paper explaining what was needed and said when the shot was given his doctor could fax the info back to the medical place. They will then forward all to the embassy and mail him a complete record of his immunization. The interview won't be for awhile yet, so there's plenty of time to add that before the medical is sent over.

About the timelines...

The good news is I found two from the list who must be approved but their timelines are messed up with no NOA2 date. One has reported an interview date and the other has received their packet 3. So they can be marked off the list.

The bad news is, I found two new March filers that weren't there before who will slide in in front of Ana. So we add those to the list.

But that really doesn't change it much +2-2=0

Ana- you are tied with 12 people on your NOA1 date so you could easily be picked for processing first when they start on that batch. Doesn't it look like they wanted to get their numbers up by the last day of March and just worked like crazy to get some NOA1s out? Also about my prediction for Friday the 13th--that's supposed to be a day of bad luck (at least in the US) but it's a superstition and I thought maybe it could be a really good luck day instead. I'm really hoping it goes fast this week and next so the March Madness group can turn it over to the Anxious Aprils.

Hmmm you are probably right I am going to be his beautiful British bride!! I know a few of his friends too although none of them have seen me since I lost weight (33lbs and counting) so it will be good to see them again and feel more comfortable with the way I look.

I like your wedding plans Ana, I love the beach but I'm really not a sand person. A relaxing/thinking weekend is just what I need at the moment. Work is hectic and I'm not sleeping too well. I have been missing education so much (its been nearly two weeks since I finished my exams!) that I have started a teaching certificate as thats what I want to do when I get to the states. Right now I'm doing certificates in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Teaching English to Young Learners and then once I have these I can progress onto a TESOL Diploma. I think your English is great lovely, its much better than my Portuguese thats for sure. I'm looking forward to being able to help people who have immigrated to America and struggle with the language, I think maybe because I have gone through the whole immigration process I might be able to offer them even more support. I do a few sessions with the local Pakistani and Indian support center here and I'm finding that I'm getting just as much out of it as those I'm teaching. I don't think I will ever be fluent in Punjabi though, I'm not smart enough to be bilingual, I have so much respect for people who are able to master more than one language.

I hope everyone is doing well. I hope Nicks medical went ok today. - Oh Nich you beat my post - Congratulations!!

Wow 33lbs? is a lot!!! I am trying to get there haha I have lost 12lbs but I need lose 20 which is what I gained in one year living in US. I ahve talked to Jeff and I am going to try make our diet healthier when I get there... I can't keep getting wait like that not because of wha tI look like but more because of my health... I got reflux on this time...

about the languages thing don't think you are not smart enough for that trust me when I was 13 I use to hate english and had a hard time with it on school just went back to study when I was 18 because on my college pretty much evebody spok english and going to US was the only way I found to really lean it. Maybe that is what you need when you are forced to speak the foreign language you learn it a lot faster, I don't even have that much accent like brazillian people use ot have when start spealing english and that is thanks for Jeff hahaha

and is really good for you to be english teacher I like that idea... =)

Hi Nich-

Thanks for the info on the immunizations. I'm trying to figure all that out for my fiance right now as well. He doesn't have any of his records of immunizations so he'll have to get everything that's age appropriate. Do you know if they told your fiance he has to have the DTaP, or was it the Tdap? They both seem to have the same vaccines so I'm not really sure what the difference is. But I found the vaccination requirements here: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/panel_vaccine_2007.htm, which call for Tdap, but not DTaP. That's why I'm wondering if there has been a change to this since December when it was published... If you have any further info, that would be great! Thanks! If I can figure this out, I'd like to have him start the vaccinations ahead of the medical as well, since he may have to get multiple doses of some of them...

I'm one of the March 31st filers as well, so I'm hoping the end of next week is when we all get lucky and get our NOA2s!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

Hi Jessica

She wrote DTaP on the paper to take to his doctor. But reading this from the link you sent it sounds like the difference is DTaP is for babies and the adult and booster version is Tdap. Maybe he didn't have the series as a baby.

Acellular pertussis-containing vaccines are available for use in persons at least 10 years of age. The adolescent and adult formulation of tetanus and diphtheria toxoid and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is given as a single (booster) dose for persons 10 through 64 years of age who have completed the recommended childhood diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and the pertussis/diphtheria and tetanus toxoids and acellular pertussis (DTP/DTaP) vaccine series.

That's a very good point you bring up and sounds correct to me. Makes you wonder if the nurse really knows what she's doling out. She also told him it contained immunization for polio as well. I know that's not right. Well the jab he goes to get is a story to be continued I guess. He'll have to question his own doctor or nurse and see what they say. The nurse at the medical appt did say if he changed his mind about getting the shot, he could just call and tell them to send his medical results on to the embassy. Thanks for the insight.

Hi March Filers!

Aleena I hope you had a lovely time in London and Erin where have you disappeared to these last few days? Hope your ok lovely.

I want my P3 guys! I used up all my patience waiting for NOA2 and now I'm struggling. I have an appointment on Friday with my nurse to try and talk her into giving me my first HPV injection on the NHS. I think I have had everything else, but it does no harm checking. I have to request a letter about my diabetes from my Dr this week too. Any ideas on what I should ask for? I'm thinking he just needs to tell them that I am in control and maybe how I control and to confirm that I have had no major or serious complications?

Hope this finds everyone well.

Hi Bex

http://www.visamedicals.info/us.asp This gives about the same info as Packet 3.

Under what to bring it says "Medical reports of any past or current illnesses including psychiatric." Your doc will probably know what's important to tell them.

On the last page of your packet, you have a medical form to fill out. You have to check yes or no to various things.

15. Have you ever had diabetes mellitus or other endocrine disorder?

20. Do you take any medication? (Please list all medications on a separate sheet)

At the bottom it says if you have answered YES to any of the above, please use a separate sheet to give further details.

Hello everyone!

i am back to sunny and hot Transylvania....lol....after 5 days of British coulds...

I had a great time and i am happy i got to see my friend. Took hundreds of pictures....Gosh...i need to schedule half a day to download them on my computer....

I loved the London architecture...One thing i missed in the US was that old and noble touch that European capitals have.

We went ot Brighton on Sunday and it was just lovely! I think if i ever had to live in the UK i would chose Brighton!

Speaking about musicals in London Nich...we saw Chicago! Fantastic! totally enjoyed it!

And one other thing i enjoyed....lol...Some of you will think i am a little pathetic but we went to see SEX and the CITY one night...and i swear i cried at least 3 times.... I guess it's just the mood i was in....and all that wedding tragedy...lol

gotta go now...a friend is visiting! i will give you updates later!

kisses

We saw Chicago on Broadway in New York. I liked it alot too.

My daughter went to the Sex and the City movie on the weekend and said she cried three times. LOL Just like you.

Glad you had a good trip and welcome back. We missed you. Hope you get the good news soon.

hello everyone!

nich - congrats on getting your medical completed! woohoo!

the wedding plan discussion was exciting! glad to see how much fun you're all having with it. david and i will be getting married at the courthouse and that will likely be it. he got accepted into school a few days ago so the next 3 to 4 years he'll be a student. no point wasting cashola on a wedding! i'm really proud of him for moving himself forward. it's nice to see he can be motivated if he really wants something. makes me love him even more.

bex - have you really lost 33 pounds? wowie! congrats! i'm down from 173 to 122 at this point. while most folks would be quite excited, it's mainly due to health issues. it's staying off though so maybe it's a good thing? i should drink some protein smoothies though. :)

aleena - it sounds like you had a lovely time in london. yay! and hmmm... maybe i need to see the sex in the city movie. it might be a good break from things

i was hospitalized on monday morning. very sick, could not see and my head was killing me. it was very scary as i was alone :( i had a CT scan plus lots of good meds and all was okay  but i'm waiting to see a neurologist and will be off work for at least 4 weeks. the paid leave is a good thing (union and doctor supported) as i have a horrid, horrid supervisor so it will give me a chance to get healthy and look for a new job without any of her stress. she is the type of person where it doesn't matter what you do, it's wrong. and even when you accept that and try to get creative, communicate differently, etc etc etc, she'll find other ways to upset you. it's been very, very trying. i won't even bother getting into the details... i'm planning to move on! :dancing:

my internet at home refuses to work and given that it's technically a neighbour's internet... well, i shouldn't complain. so now i get to sit in the library with all the 'interesting' people and write to you all. i imagine i'll be here quite a bit. there are at least 10 jobs i plan to apply to (all sound interesting), so i best get that moving forward. i also have time now to deal with all the errands that my supervisor wouldn't give me time off of work for... like getting renewing my health card! (the only way you can see doctor's in ontario and have it covered by health care).

i also plan to spend a large part of tomorrow cleaning my apartment. i think a proper spring cleaning is in order, plus i need to hook up my air conditioner. it's supposed to be in the 90s here by friday.

tonight, tomorrow and friday i'm going out with friends so that should keep me occupied as well. someone asked me if i'd spend the 4 weeks in chicago. the thought did cross my mind but i think it's best i work on things here. i still hope to get there at the end of the month but we'll see what happens :)

anyway, i better dash and get dinner before tonight's meet up. funny how my appetite returns as soon as major stress is removed.

hoping for lots of approvals and bex's P3 this week!

hugs,

erin
