I'm back home. Feeling very tired now. It's a 10 hr flight and makes for a very long day considering the extra time spent at the airport before and after.

Erin here's the Canada consulate reviews. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.p...nada&page=1

I glanced at a few, especially K1s and K3s. Several said they didn't look at any evidence of a relationship. I think the detailed proofs we read about here on VJ are countries where there is more visa fraud and language differences. Canada doesn't seem to be that difficult once you get to the interview so relax and be the fun girlfriend he fell for.

My personal opinion is, in the case of Montreal and London, that they figure your relationship has already been proven to the USCIS and their main concern is your medical exam, police record, and proof of support. You will have to work out everywhere you've lived and all your trips to the US and for how many days, so fret over figuring those things out for your forms. I think that's more important than phone bills. And another thing...your NOA 2 is down the road a bit and your nerves aren't going to make it that long if you keep up the worrying at this pace.

"Don't sweat the small stuff"

aleena - i hear you about mood swings/changes. but you all know that

that's exciting that you're breaking the big news at work tomorrow. i'm sure it will go well. then you just have to figure out all the fun stuff to do between then and when you get to the US! woohoo!

ana - i agree. vermont was slow... so was the csc. someone somewhere on these boards mentioned that it typically slows down around the memorial day weekend so that might be the reason why. i'm sure they'll pick up the pace again very soon

nich - glad to hear you're back home safe and sound. it sounds like you had an excellent time visiting :)

thanks for taking the time to post the link for the canadian consulate reviews, and this:

"Canada doesn't seem to be that difficult once you get to the interview so relax and be the fun girlfriend he fell for."

you couldn't have said it better. i've spent the weekend reflecting on our relationship, how much he means to me, and how much i am truly looking forward to being with him. we both deserve the best from each other and i've been... well, i haven't been much fun, that's for sure. so, here's to not sweating the small stuff!

hope you all had fabulous weekends!

     and here are good vibes for all of us!!!

much love,

Hey Everyone!

Hope your all well. Glad you are home safe and sound Nic, I forgot to ask did you enjoy the Pirates of Penzance last week ? Thanks for the quote although I'm quite enjoying sweating the small stuff this weekend. I have been going through all my books, cd's, dvd's etc trying to figure out what to take and what to get rid of. I'm doing a car boot sale with Saffyre next weekend hopefully but before I do I really need to come to terms with the fact that people will not pay what the price i think my things are worth. Its really hard! I've had Alan on the phone going through some of the stuff with me. I keep changing my mind on whether or not I am going to actually ship anything or just carry it over/get friends to bring it. I keep finding things at the back of draws and then I spend half an hour going through it, its lovely to not have to worry about the fact I'm not revising. YEY!!! I just tossed my "loving your long distance relationship" books on top of the TO GO pile! Wooohooo.

I'm a career for a mentally disabled boy and I'm taking him to the seaside tomorrow. I'm quite looking forward to that although I just spoke to my dad who's there right now and he said its wet and cold :( Plus I have a stye from the stress and lack of sleep of the last few weeks and its making my whole face hurt! Then its back to full time employment for me on Wednesday! Ahhhh I'm going to be a grown up! WFT! I originally told them I would be there till mid/end September so I'm not massively looking forward to sitting down with them and telling them I'm hoping to be off by the end of July. I don't have any of my stuff for P3 organized and because of my yuky swollen eye I haven't been able to get my pictures taken for the police cert yet so I might be a little delayed but hopefully not till September lol.

Aleena congrats on talking to your boss. Not long to go until you are fancy free. I am 100% with you on the mood swings, between the visa, exams and actual pms Alan has seen the worst side of me ever. Its good though, at least he knows what he's getting himself into.

Erin lovely your so hard on yourself sometimes. Your not only going through a massive transition in your life in terms of moving to another country but your getting married and taking on a child too. Plus you have everything else that is going on at in YOUR life. You are allowed to not be at your best all of the time. I went through this a while back with Alan and he did make a fair point about the fact that I would go out and keep everything covered up at school/work/with my friends and family and then I would come home exhausted and cry on him for hours about everything. He was more hurt by the fact that there was a good side of me but that everyone else was getting it. He said something like "if I'm going to be there for you through the worst of it then I want to be there for the best of it too" I have been so conscious of that since.

Well this is a long post and I'm missing the good part of Bugs (teehee) so I'll love you all and leave you.

Good vibes to everyone (especially Aleena!)

bex - i hope your stye is starting to get better. i had one that lasted much longer than it should have... then suddenly it was gone. very strange. i hope yours decides to flee sooner than later. ouch! but the end of july... that's soon! that's like, 2 months away!!! you must be so excited. wow. i'll be living vicariously through all of you folks who get to move before i do. you'll have to keep us posted on all the fun and exciting things happening once you get to the USA.

"if I'm going to be there for you through the worst of it then I want to be there for the best of it too"

i'm going to pretend that david said this :) (thanks )

so... i didn't realize how nervous i'd be about my banking paperwork that i'm signing off on tomorrow, but i woke up with a major migraine and was quite ill. i called into work (not a good idea), took some zomig and went back to bed. now i'm sitting at home in my pajamas in the dark in the middle of the afternoon. how decadent! wish i had some bonbons! luckily the headache is starting to lift so i can finish pulling together the few papers i have left to find. i'm amazed that 20 hours from now i will be able to say that i have moved forward something that has been weighing me down for the better part of a decade. if i didn't have a headache, i'd be (nervously) singing and dancing and quite excited at this point, i think. so i'm going to get some emoticons to do it for me :dancing::dance::dancing::dance::dancing:

hope you are all enjoying memorial day! just think - i bet we'll all be in the US to celebrate (and have the day off) next year. neat-o!

hugs,

erin

Good morning. My body is still in another time zone. Yesterday I got up somewhere around 3AM because I was still on British time I guess. I stayed up about 2 hours later Monday night so managed to sleep until 4:30 AM or so today. If I was still in the UK, it would be daylight, but it's still very dark here at almost 6 AM now.

I'm getting back into the swing of things at home, but miss the fun of two weeks as part of a "couple." One of my daughters was here Sunday and the other came Monday. I saw a good friend who had surgery while I was away who is doing well. My girlfriend and I went out last night to the coffee shop where we hang out and chat. We caught up on two weeks worth of what's been going on. My cats are happy that I'm home. I pay a college girl to look after the house and cats while I'm away. She's very thoughtful. The house was very cleaned up. She left me a vase of flowers on the breakfast room table and pasta, salad, garlic bread, and cake in the fridge so I would have something to eat after my long day of travel.

I guess my vacation is officially over and I really should unpack and do laundry at some point. Here's to a good week for everybody!

Hi guys!

In an hour from now I will be in my job interview... I have been working last night, preparing my teaching portfolio and planning a lesson (if they want to see me teach). So I hope things will go okay, however, the coordinator told me that they are seeing other teachers too, so there is a bit of competition there.

I cant wait till this school year is over, next year maybe I will be in a better place, working with new people. Changes can be really good sometimes.

We are still working on the paperwork...our plan is to go to the interview without the Argentinean police report , I will write a letter explaining the circumstances and I hope at least to get a blue slip (for the missing doc) and hopefully they'll wait.

Donnie is arranging things for his vacation. We estimate he would be here around the middle of July. I would love to have him here by the beginning of July but her doesnt want to travel around the 4th of July with all the terrorists planning who knows what, so I guess it's okay.

Its getting hot here in Israel, soon the swimming pool in my lovely town will open and I will get some swimming done (lol I think that after my divorce a year and a half ago I gained weight).

Im assembling a package to send Donnie soon, I have no idea what to buy him....he always has anything he may need....lol buying stuff for men can be complicated. I mean, for a woman, whatever you get is great! isnt that true?

Well, Im going to put some make up on...wish me luck. Ill tell you how it went later. !

Tuty hope your job interview went well... I am sure you will give us a review :)

It's nice that Donnie will come see you soon...

It is always good to have something to look forward to :)

I am getting a little depressed looking at Igor's list...No updates in almost a week... :(

Patience is something i've never been good at...And this is what the whole process is about...

I always want things done asap...

Can you learn to be patient if it's not in your nature????

Maybe I am not trying to hard....

Please don't get depressed.....

Im trying to get out of it and isnt easy. I think that since I lost my job I've been down. Today I went to this job interview but it wasnt for me. They are a private school and I have benefits working for the ministry of education wich is a government possition...so no way Im leaving that. Do you know what I did today too? I made some jewelry! yes I cant believe it but the necklaces are quiet nice!. Donnie buys me beads on Ebay and that keeps me busy.

The less we think about a subject, the less it bothers us. A few months ago the women's doctor said that I have HPV...I know that the US government doesnt have a problem with that now (other than the Gardasil vaccine) I've been asking myself if someday they are going to ban people for having it. The thing is that it is so common, specially in people over 30...that if the US government wanted to `get rid of many immigrants to be, this would be a susccesful strategy for them.

I dont know why...I never had any troubles with the police, immigration....(well I overstayed but it was 18 years ago!) or any medical serious issue, but I have this terrible feeling inside me that somehow they are going to deny it, the k1 visa I mean. We have tons of proof....like any real coupe would have. Donnie will be comming for a 3rd time and by the time of the interview maybe we'll have 4....so I dont really have any reason to get negative but I cant help it.

Im quite sure that it is a common feeling amongst the people abroad waiting for the "final sentence". What bothers me the most is that the consular official can easily deny or give....many times depending on his mood...and that sucks.

Well I'll keep making necklaces, I will send some to Donnie so he can sell them for me in E-bay.

And please try to keep busy and occupied...tyhat really helps!

Hey Ana...

sorry you had a bad night...

i had one this week also...lol

i noticed VSC looks pretty bad at the moment also... God knows what's going on there... It really upsets me that there is nothing certain about this whole process... you never know when or why they are moving slower or faster...

i hate having my life planned by a bunch of strangers... and i hate the time barrier they are putting between us...

I understand the complications of the immigration process...but i think this uncertainty they are throwing on us is just not fair...

This should be the most beautiful time of my life....I have met the man i want to share all my days and nights with and they are making it so painful...

I pray for patience...but i crash so many times.... Every single day without an aswer seems more and more difficult to bear...

I hoped we would have our approval by now... We've made plans for the summer...but only God knows when the long waited day will come...

Sorry I can't find any comfort words today Ana...but I am pretty much in the same mood you are....

All I can say is just hang in there the best you can...Our time will come too :)
