Congratulations to Bex on finishing university. Very, very funny about your neighbor.

Pandora- you were speedy in sending your Packet 3 back. Nick did his documents today...all day it seems, but it's ready to put in the post tomorrow. He requested in a cover letter that his interview be scheduled after July 15. He also booked his medical today. I've got all the other things to take to the embassy that I want to go over with him before I leave so he can organize it and be ready. If I organized it for him, he would just act all confused. Sometimes his British brain thinks backwards to mine, so it's best to let his brain get ready for the interview.

And a little quote for all of you from a fridge magnet~

"Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional."

Let's all do our best to put on a smile for the weekend.

LOL Tuty thats funny!

I'm trying to put a smile on for this weekend but Alan is seriously pushing me close to the edge. He would most definitely be sleeping on the couch if we were living together. Men just DO NOT get it sometimes. Urgh.

I'm supposed to be going to a music festival this weekend but am desperately trying to sell my ticket. I finally hit the exhaustion wall last night and just feel drained. I've been wanting to have a clear out for ages, I have so much rubbish to sort through plus I like the idea of being able to have a little nap every three hours or so.

I hope everyone is well.

Lots of love

Isn't it a lovely morning?

Next week I'll be all lonely and grouchy since I have to go back home tomorrow morning. And I'll be out of synch time-wise on your postings. You'll be having a party on here and telling your news while I'm still sleeping.

Aleena, I'm ready for you to get your NOA 2. This is the week. ~~~~~~~~

We need to hurry up so Kim's April club can be the happening place with approvals coming in. I think a week of 20+ VJ approvals would be good.

You know, our lists are such a small part of what they do at the service centers. When I was tracking my package from NVC to the embassy, in two days of shipments there were papers going to 82 or 83 different countries. And there were multiple petitions in many of the packages. That's alot of approvals going out in a two day period.

BTW we scanned the whole packet 3 letter and checklist from London, but I don't really how to post documents on VJ for other people to reference. It had an April 2008 date on the form, so it's very new.

Bex, hope you've ordered your police certificate and gotten your P3 stuff together because you will have your packet next week for sure. The police certificate is good for 12 months. Maybe that's why you're mad at Alan, because he's not started his part (affidavit of support). Whenever possible during this process, I filled out the forms and emailed them to Nick to print and sign. Alot of the original petition forms were pdf that could be saved.

While your talking packet 3, its worth taking copies of your original documents for the interview, such as birth cert, police cert etc, they will then keep the copies and give you the originals back.

Hey guys...

just go back from work...that's right...on a SATURDAY!!!!

we were asked to go in today to move some stuff around the office...So i went to give a hand although i am leaving soon...

Actually i haven't found the right time to tell my boss i am leaving....lol...and almost everybody else at the office knows...

But Monday will be the day :)

Last 2 days i wasn't in my best mood...

Even cried a little yesterday...lol... Some days it is just harder...But all you guys know that and i am not saying anything new...

For some reason i hoped to have our NOA2 by now...Makes me sad that i won't be there for our first anniversary in June...I will miss his birthday too...Unless a miracle happens... and i started thinking about all kinds of silly things...like...what if somnething goes wrong...and it will take a lot longer....

Today is exactly 2 months since we got our NOA1... I know it's not late...but i am becoming more and more impatient as the days go by...

Like Tuty said....you put your life on hold....and then just wait for an answer...

I don't have that much life experience but never did i have to wait for something for so long and have excatly zero chances to influence things in any way... I guess the only thing i can influence is how i look at the whole thing...

But...like my baby always says.....It is what it is....

Ok...i will stop now before i put other people in a bad mood... It is not that bad after all...Just me being very girly right now...lol

Bex...congrats on finishing your exams :) I am sure you did very well :)

And Nich...have a safe trip back!

SAL! congrats on your approval. HOORAY!

I've been wanting to have a clear out for ages, I have so much rubbish to sort through plus I like the idea of being able to have a little nap every three hours or so.

yes, tuty. SUPER funny

aw bex...

first - i hope you have a super weekend doing whatever you feel you'd like to do. you've had a very hectic week and with your p3 maybe you do just need some down time, lots of naps, etc.

second - i hear you re: men just DO NOT get it sometimes. david and i have been having a tough time with our communication for over 3 months now. i know i play a part in it, too, but it seems that he just doesn't care to understand why i like hearing from him and talking to him on a regular basis. monday night is the last time we talked and we decided we should be more realistic with our communication and i felt that would be a-ok for me. i like going to bed early and feeling productive. a couple of good conversations a week and a couple of text messages a day would be perfect. what i wasn't expecting was only receiving one or two text messages a day and always about HOCKEY. no, "how are you?" or "hope your day is going well" or even "i love you". *sigh* i know anything is better that nothing... and that he's a guy. i just have moments, lots of them, when i wonder if this is enough... and will things really be better once i get there? he is positive that things will be fine and that we just have to 'relax' and get through all this.

but, i am also having a VERY difficult time trying to get him to send me his calling records. now first, when we were putting together our K1 application he delayed the process by a month with his inability to deal with paperwork. we worked that out. i put everything together and just told him where to sign and exactly what he needed to do. but i have been asking him for his feb, mar calling records since mar 30th. a couple weeks ago i added apr onto that and though we made a little progress (he sent me his home phone records from mar and apr). but i really need his cell phone records (that's the number i always call him on). the last time we talked about it (10 days ago) he agreed he'd get to it... and i'm still waiting.

i keep trying to find different ways of expressing why this is important (the last time i actually had to say that if he really wanted to get me there, he'd need to put in some minimal effort), but nothing is working. and at this point, with the ongoing communication issues, i'm almost afraid to ask again.

so here's a question - if i have my calling records to his numbers, do i really need his calling records? i need to remove this stress... i guess another tactic would be asking him if there is any way i could help him in obtaining these. could i log into his account and retrieve them monthly? that sort of thing.

tuty - what you said about feeling like your life is on hold, and that you're anxious to rebuild your life... well, i'm there, too. i have made all kinds of positive changes in my life over the last two years (the biggest was cutting out alcohol), but many of the choices resulted in ending friendships. i know i'm better off without those people in my life, most were negative influences, but it has left me feeling alone. so i'm also, truly, trying to figure out WHO I AM. i've never had a very good sense of this for a number of reasons. so i'm working on that and, most importantly, i am getting back to enjoying my own company again. being alone shouldn't mean feeling lonely and i know this well. last year, prior to meeting david, i was doing SO WELL and really liked being single and on my own. but when i met him and saw where i wanted my life to go, i threw myself in completely. well, given the amount of time we're waiting it wasn't a good thing. sure, it's nice to get a sense of all the good things that are in store for us, but i stopped living for myself (a pattern i have repeated in many past relationships).

so, i'm working on it and it feels like i'm really making progress for myself... it's just not easy at times. but it's nice to know that there are others who are having similar challenges and that i'm not alone in some of my struggles.

aleena - i hear you about thinking all kinds of silly things. i'm sure with everything i've said so far, you're all clearly aware of me and thinking silly things. not to discredit myself, but i do tend to worry far more than i should. yes, it is what it is. 10 more months and this could all be in the past.

nich - safe travels!!!

anyhow, gosh, that was quite a lengthy post! hope you're not all asleep now :)

the weather is beautiful in toronto this weekend. it's bright and sunny and warm. i should really get out and enjoy it.

thanks to all of you for reading.

much love,

erin

thought i'd share :)

today's horoscope... thought for the day (from the toronto star).

Give yourself a leave of absence from big decision-making today. The moon is in a long "void" phase for nearly the whole day until it enters Aquarius late tonight. So, relax, read, sleep and throw something scrumptious on the barbie.

yup. so let's all have a fab day doing whatever we want and eating whatever we like! preferably bbq-d!

While your talking packet 3, its worth taking copies of your original documents for the interview, such as birth cert, police cert etc, they will then keep the copies and give you the originals back.

Got that covered. All docs (and copies) for the interview are sorted, labeled, and neatly packed for the interview.

Erin--you don't need all those phone records. They won't look at that much during the interview. Just have yours and maybe something of his closer to the interview if you must. We actually don't have any phone records in our interview packet. I haven't read Canada embassy reports but London reports say they don't ask for much in documentation of the relationship.

Will catch up with you guys when I get back in the USA. Adios amigos!

nich - good on you for being so organized! i have all my paperwork in a stack but have to sort it. i'm hoping to do that tomorrow and then just keep it organized from that point forward... until the big (interview) day!

THANK YOU for saying i don't need all those records. i am much calmer hearing that, and it did seem like a bit much BUT i'm one of those 'better safe than sorry' types. i'm going to post in the canada forum and see what they think, too. there are a lot of folks with interviews in may and june who will have recent experience with it and have a good sense of what happens at the montreal consulate.

travel safe!
