Packet 3!!! That is wonderful news!

it sure is! hooray!!! :dancing: :joy: :dancing:

bex - are you finished your exams yet? and most importantly, did you get your pirate costume organized? :D

gosh - not much new here. just keeping myself as busy as possible and watching the days fly by. things have been hectic at work which has been a blessing. i went to two hockey games this week and have plans to see a friend tonight. we're going on a walk on the toronto islands. it should be lovely! i hope to spend the weekend relaxing at home, something i never seem to let myself do. this process is really giving me time to settle down, learn a lot about more about myself and be happy in my own company. all good things!

oh wait! yes, there is one thing... you can tell my stress level has been reduced if i'm forgetting about something that has been a weight on me for the better part of the last decade  i was able to get my finances organized and will be signing off on some paperwork next tuesday morning. it looks like once i've done that, it should only be 9 months until i can move without the banks thinking i'm running away without taking care of business first :) so, i'm pretty confident that with that taken care of and the K1 process rolling along, i'll be able to move next march! i'm so happy that we're now looking at 10 more months instead of more than a year. :star:

of course, i liked our original idea of what our timeline might look like. we figured i'd be moving there in june. yes, next month. hahaha! that would have been very nice but i know this process is all for the best. i miss my guy though...

     good vibes to all the march filers!!!

happy thursday! the weekend is just around the corner!

and i'm glad to see some of the 'lurkers' coming out of the woodwork, too! it's nice to have you all here :D

hugs,

erin

Hello guys...How are ya'll doing? I see we have some new people on the thread...welcome everybody.

Today I feel terrible, I got fired from school due to a new plan from the ministry of education (they are cutting off hours) now Im jobless and I have to look for a new school. Im terrified because I support myself. I dont know what to do...after working for 4 years at the same place...I feel lost and I've noticed that there is a lot of competition all around. In addition I get angry all the time because the paper work doesnt move and sometimes I think Donnie doesnt do things as fast and efficiently as I do. Im just tired. All this is too much :crying:

oh tuty... i feel for you in the situation you are in. i am very sorry to hear that your position was cut and that you no longer have your job at the school. my mom and aunt were both teachers and when the ontario (provicial) government started making major changes, they both felt forced out and retired early rather than risk losing themselves in jobs they no longer loved. i know things must seem difficult, but hang in there. *HUGS* you are such a strong woman and i am sure you will get through this and look back on it all as a positive change in your life.

as for feeling frustrated and angry with the paperwork, i have had my (very) bad days as well. i also understand your frustration with feeling like donnie isn't doing things as quickly as you do, or would like him to. i have the same struggle with david. what i have to remember is that david does and will do the paperwork, he just does it in his own way and in his own time. when push comes to shove, i know he will make sure things are done before any deadlines and if they're not, he'll have a good reason for it. i think the biggest problem in this process is that we are not in control of it and that can be difficult. when our partners aren't doing things the same way we might, it feels stressful because it's another thing we have no control over but feel we should have some sort of influence on.

i hope this makes sense :)

i just think it's interesting that you expressed this frustration as i had been similarly frustrated with david for a few months and only recently, within the last month, have been able to start letting go of it. i hope what i said helps you in some way. :luv:

     good vibes to tuty!

You have no idea how helpful your words are!

I feel like Im putting my whole life on hold for him, and he just goes through the days without worrying too much.

I feel like my life is pending in the air really! I cant register for my MA...or open the small business that I want...I cant even buy a big TV or a new pc because I will have to give it away...so I think ...better save the money for translations and stuff...Im tired of waiting and waiting...I left my ex one and a half years ago...I want to re build my life and it seems that it wont happen soon. I hate living alone, sleeping alone...I dont have parents here and my 2 sisters are always too busy for me. I lost all my friends to the divorce. Im completely alone. I told Donnie many times that his situation is not even close to mine. He has a comfortable life there...hes happy. He is used to be alone but Im not. I want new friends, new job...and not long ago I moved to a new town which I love. I really need to rebuild my life...but now is on hold...and Im getting depressed...how long should I keep on waiting?????this is not fair! not fair.

Aww tuty, i'm so sorry you have even more to deal with hug9.gif

I can certainly understand that right now you feel in limbo and to lose your job on top of everything else sux but, well, it is what it is... take it as an opportunity to try something new... have some fun while you're waiting and do something out of the ordinary. You'll be leaving soon enough anyway! ;) When one door closes..... another opens. Let this be your avenue for a little fun.. a little change will do you good and it will help this ridiculous wait you have!

I'm sorry that you dont feel as though your SO is struggling in the same ways ...that's tough. I really think that some people just 'worry' differently. It doesn't mean he loves you any less... it just means he handles it in a different way than you do. Even if you don't see it. ;) Russell and I tend to take turns on the 'high road'... if i'm down he's up and visa versa. Tell him you'd be a lot happier if he'd just break something in frustration!

Do something good for you. Take a walk...do some writing...find some perspective. Soon your life will change and everything that you want/need will be at your fingertips. Until then... treat yourself like a queen and take some time each day to reflect on where you're headed!

re: kim's posts... i TOTALLY agree :star:

and yes....there will always be this "thing" about us girls....we worry to much ;)

there are definitely major differences in communication between women and men. i think they play a VERY BIG part in all the frustration we can feel, especially in a process like this. i've actually been revisiting some of my sociology reference materials since the K1 process forces us to focus on communication because we can't really do anything BUT... well, without quitting our jobs and racking up thousands in travel bills :P

deborah tannen has a number of fantastic books re: communication but you just don't understand: women and men in conversation, gender and conversational interaction, and that's not what i meant: how conversational style makes or breaks relationships are three fantastic reads that can put things in perspective. i like her books better than dr. john gray's books (men are from mars, women are from venus series) but his books are also quite good and easy to read ^_^ (i like easy to read!)

Awww thanx for the congratulations guys! I have just been out for a very civilized, posh lunch with my friends. I wore a nice summer dress which happens to be mainly white. Got out the restaurant and as I sat on the bus it started to rain and then in stopped raining and it became more like a waterfall, my house is all but 3 minutes from the stop but by the time i got home I might have well not been waring a dress it was totally see through!!!!

I was just opening my front door thinking "that was so lucky I don't think anyone saw me - phew that would have been embarrassing" as my neighbor popped his head over the fence and shouted "good job you put a matching set on today!" Oh I nearly died! LOL - Kim its a good job I put any on today!

Oh that was funny! I think I am going to take an afternoon nap now. BECAUSE I CAN! My break is very short lived though I have been into my old office today and they have asked me to start back on Wednesday! So I have officially got 5 days off before I have to launch into another stressful role.

I hope everyone is well and looking forward to the weekend

Lots of love xxxx
